Thanks for trying Alan, but ultimately you weren't up to the job. We should have made the play-offs last season given our league position just before Christmas and the backing you received in the January window but you failed to deliver.

Pardew was in charge for 64 games - We lost just 13 of them.

Good luck finding someone who can do better!

Thanks Alan, you were the best man for the job.

Reading the quoted post it will be interesting to see the details of the wins after 64 games for the new man...

if he gets stays that long of course

Good luck wherever you end up.....obviously we don't know all the facts but from the outside it seems that you were treated a bit shabbily.

I wasn't impressed when he was unveiled but he grew on me and I was treated to a nice day out at wembley on my birthday so I will always be grateful for that.

Go and prove cortese wrong......just not against us.

Having had the day to reflect, I have written another poem for Alan. It's from the heart because Alan touched me, like an uncle.

I couldn't find the right words

Nothing seemed to rhyme

To write something for you all

I think it will take time

Because when you have friends

That are very hard to find

There's so much to say

Because you make everything alright

So I will tell you right now

exactly what I need to say

To show you how much I appreciate

You being there everyday

You're worth more than anyone

even a million pounds

Because you always know what to say

When I am feeling down

You make me smile big smiles

And my days so very bright

And when I lose my way

You find me in the night

I sometimes wish I could explain

How much you mean to me

But its just not possible

To list a billion things

So I just wanted to say

I love you so so much

And I hope you never leave me

Promise to stay in touch

Good Luck Alan. I'm sure you will be back in work soon with a club and chairman that will give you the credit you deserve. I wish you every success in the future and will love it when you show NC what a mistake he's made by letting you go. You always conducted yourself well to the press and the fans. There's certain people at this club who could learn a thing or two from you.

Thanks for everything you did. You made following Saints enjoyable once more. Now we wait and see what happens.

Good luck to Pards I liked him and thought he did a good job got most if not all transfers right won a trophy it is a shame to see him go I dont understand the thinking behind this decision.

I think he can be proud of his record at Saints and hold his head high it will be interseting to see if the reason for his sacking is made public

With a win record of 53.13% Alan Pardew had the best win ratio of any Southampton manager since the first World War. He is the most succesful manager in terms of win ratio that we have ever had in the football league.

His successor will have massive shoes to fill in many fan's eyes, in particular mine.
