Saw that on the huddersfiled forum, I don't buy it either.

AP was sacked because the results before the Rovers game are not good enough.

If it continued at home to Rochdale and the MK Dons then its another two games wasted.

There is plenty of time for a new manager to come in and work with the best players in this league, we just need tweaking.

timing allows the new manager, Zolo, if the rumours well before the sacking are anything to go by, to sign the players he wants before the window closes.

The most sensible analysis of the situation I have read.

What all 2 league games not good enough? If we had continued in those next games the way we did against Rovers no problem and no tweeking needed.

He has before, and done well, why not?

Because he is not good enough basically.

He did ok at West Ham but not great and has been banging on about it ever since.

TBF, if he was properly backed he would have done well for us but seeing he clearly wasn't i am glad he has been given the boot early, no point dragging it out. I just wish that it was done at the end of the season so we could have bedded in a new man over the pre-season break. Thats what i am p*ssed off at NC for, not the sacking but the timing.

Zola, Southgate, Blackwell could all do better jobs. I would even welcome Howe but think we need a biggish name in order to keep our best players (lallana, fonte, Lambert) at the club.

If you watched Sheffield United last season like I did then you would not suggest Blackwell could do a job for us, let alone a better one.

Interesting one, because my mate told me yesterday he saw Pardew in the stand at Villa Park, before this all kicked off .............................

Interesting if this is the case. Lloyd James was seen in the stand on Saturday against Bristol Rovers. Pardew's replacement?

Don't think he's the level of manager they're looking at.

so their no looking for a manager with Premiership experience or a manger with a good pedigree in the cups, guess Man Utd fans should brace themselves for the worst!

Timing allows no time what so ever, I thought the window closed tomorrow?

I think it's a shocking decision, if Cortesse was only prepared to give him 3 games he should of just bit the bullet and sacked him last May. Sure there would of been a lot of unhappy fans (me included) but if it'd been explained properly that Alan was not the man for the new owners, that they wanted to act now to enable the new man time to build his team, to mould his players and to install his own tactics and style of playing, most would have accepted it!

Can't see the whole staff getting the boot thou in that scenario.

I agree, I think it "odd" that all three leave at the same instant

You only do that if you have a cast iron certainty replacment ready to wheel out

Hardly much prem experience, you can name 100's of managers who have been in the prem at some point. Steve Wigley has premiership experience ffs.

Did well in the cups ? He won the JPT trophy with a team that spent sh*t loads considering the league and came runner up in the FA Cup.

Straws and clutching spring to mind.

Don't we get compensation if pardew left to go to villa, whereas if we sacked him we would have to pay out his contract? This is why I can't see this being the case

This from a CEO who has not bothered with a shirt sponsor for this year? Cortese's main focus is on promotion and that level of cost does not really come into it. I said this last season, that IF Pardew asked to speak to another club, he would be gone immediately and I can only see that being underlined now. It's a plausible theory but no more than that, until someone spills the beans. The one small bell this does trigger, is when news of Pardews sacking came to light, this Villa angle was highlighted on a non Saints site very early on.

Something definitely happened in regards to the training ground or set up, but I cannot as yet see that as being sufficient on it's own. Lallana's injury may have been a tipping point should facts now point to bad management. Cortese had committed to Pardew in terms of time and resources and I feel it would be more than those first two bad league results that did the damage. If Cortese felt there was a slight chance of having to replace Pardew at exactly this time into the season, I firmly believe he would have been gone before the end of last season.
