saint_bert Posted 29 August, 2010 Author Share Posted 29 August, 2010 http://www.thefa.com/England/News/match-centre/2010/EnglandBulgaria/Match-Previews/Squad-announcement Crouch made it. Would have liked Andy Carroll to be given a chance. Maybe if he keeps playing well and getting goals for Newcastle.

Crab Lungs Posted 29 August, 2010 Share Posted 29 August, 2010 Oh great. Scott Carson and Matthew Upson back. No, seriously, they deserve to be - after all, they're not proven failures at all. And good on him for omitting Joe Cole; he's useless. :S
Hopkins Posted 29 August, 2010 Share Posted 29 August, 2010 No Huddlestone is the biggest joke. SWP over Lennon too. Amazing. Not fussed by Carson, hardly a failure on one game as he's never going to play so what's the harm. Upson will be booted out once Terry is fit so not bothered by him unless he plays in which case help us all. Thank god there is no Carroll though. He's poor anyway, but until he's done it over a few games he shouldn't be anywhere near the squad. Nor should Carlton Cole either though. Zamora would obviously be in if fit though. England so boring and I wouldn't at all be suprised if they struggle against the Swiss.
SuperMikey Posted 29 August, 2010 Share Posted 29 August, 2010 Why Lescott is anywhere near the squad is anyone's guess - he's absolutely sh!te. I'd play; -------------------------------HART------------------------ G.JOHNSON---------JAGIELKA---------CAHILL---------A.COLE ------------------------------BARRY------------------------ ------------MILNER----------GERRARD-------A.JOHNSON----- --------------------ROONEY----------CROUCH---------------

I'd play; -------------------------------HART------------------------ G.JOHNSON---------JAGIELKA---------CAHILL---------A.COLE ------------------------------BARRY------------------------ ------------MILNER----------GERRARD-------A.JOHNSON----- --------------------ROONEY----------CROUCH--------------- Don't forget Heskey has retired from international football, so Capello needs a new donkey in the squad. Andy_Porter Posted 30 August, 2010 Share Posted 30 August, 2010 No Huddlestone? that's ridiculous. We should be building our team around midfielders who can actually pass the ball. Johnson, Huddlestone, Barry, Wilshere and Milner - Make it happen Fabio.

Appy Posted 2 September, 2010 Share Posted 2 September, 2010 Huddlestone is the most lazy and overrated player around at the moment.
Andy_Porter Posted 2 September, 2010 Share Posted 2 September, 2010 That is exactly the sort of attitude England needs to drop if we're ever going to do anything at International football. He's been fantastic so far this year for Spurs,

He's been fantastic so far this year for Spurs, Oh sorry do you watch nearly every spurs game? According to my spurs supporting mate who sees them at the lane every home match, he is so lazy and overrated, i tend to agree from the occasions i've seen him. According to my spurs supporting mate who sees them at the lane every home match, he is so lazy and overrated, i tend to agree from the occasions i've seen him. He is not meant to be a box to box player, he is a sort of deep playmaker who can do a bit of defending. Lazy ? No just positionally sound. He lets the flair players play. Would your mate think Mascherano and Makelele were lazy ?
Smirking_Saint Posted 2 September, 2010 Share Posted 2 September, 2010 Why Lescott is anywhere near the squad is anyone's guess - he's absolutely sh!te. I'd play; -------------------------------HART------------------------ G.JOHNSON---------JAGIELKA---------CAHILL---------A.COLE --------------------------- Huddlestone------------------------ ------------Walcott----------GERRARD-------A.JOHNSON----- --------------------ROONEY----------CROUCH--------------- That looks better, Barry is over-rated and would probably look better on the left before Johnson turned up. I also think Milner had his best ever season last year but Walcott is on fire right now and we need pace in the england team. IMO we need to look at the Italian and German models which use the Euro's as a training ground for the new youth in order to become ready for the world cup. Will Terry/Lampard/Beckham/Scholes ever make the next world cup ? If even the Euro's FFS. Until the FA move into the future and embrace change we will never amount to anything.
