doddisalegend Posted 27 August, 2010 Posted 27 August, 2010 Rovers have signed a new striker bound to bloody score on his debut:rolleyes: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/bristol_rovers/8951109.stm
captainchris Posted 27 August, 2010 Posted 27 August, 2010 I would say that's one of his strong points, my only real gripes with Pardew are that he is from time to time too negative in his team selection / tactics and doesn't handle the press very welll. There where plenty of times where Pardew turned a performance around with personnel and tactical changes - Brighton away, Orient away, Yeovil away etc. That would be when we had Antinio and Papa I take it?
Smirking_Saint Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 I think it would be nice if people could get over the whole Antonio thing. Preferably 3 months ago. THIS !!! Mmm,we will lose,AP sacked and Zola will our next manager. Just a wild stab in the dark. Strange, i was thinking the other day that Zola would be a good stab in the dark IF Pardew was sacked.
bristolsaint29 Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 Can't make the game as have family commitments but live in a predominanttl Brizzle Rovers part of Bristol, so this morning my 2 1/2 yr old boy is in full Saints kit and has so far been singing "It's all Southampton" to my neigbours over the fence and has been singing "Rickie Lambert Southampton Goal Machine" round Sainsbury's much to my delight and my wifes disgust.

tobes8 Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 Quick word of warning- check your tickets if you got them yesterday, when i got in i checked mine and it said "this is not a ticket wrong ticket stock" basically the sales staff must have ****ed up. after a call to the ticket office they said i need to head to the away ticket office tomorrow and they will change it!
madruss Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 Rovers have signed a new striker bound to bloody score on his debut:rolleyes: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/bristol_rovers/8951109.stm I'm sure they'd much rather have Lambert than this fella!!
Thedelldays Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 must win game..or we will be playing even more catch up... then again..im sure I will be told I am wrong
Thedelldays Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 seriously...fail to win and I think pardew will be sweating about his job
Toomer Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 I don't think he has too long, and TBF i don't think we can afford to wait until Xmas if we are clearly faltering, we need a win and hopefully a big one. If NC gets rid who do we bring in to replace him, anyway IMO it won't happen as I feel a 3-1 win is on the cards.
Thedelldays Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 If NC gets rid who do we bring in to replace him, anyway IMO it won't happen as I feel a 3-1 win is on the cards. not for us to decide....but money talks in football
NickG Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 seriously...fail to win and I think pardew will be sweating about his job don't think NC will be a very patient man but would be surprised if he acted even if we lost the next 2.
Thedelldays Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 don't think NC will be a very patient man but would be surprised if he acted even if we lost the next 2. I think he would...we could be adrift if we lost the next two....and sat nicely in the relegation zone...
The Kraken Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 don't think NC will be a very patient man but would be surprised if he acted even if we lost the next 2. I think 3 points today are absolutely vital for AP to stay in position; I could very easily see a defeat meaning the end of his tenure. So for that alone I'm doubly hoping we can put in a performance today and put some points on the table.
scotty Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 Bristol is always a needle match. Hopefully they'll crack if we put the pressure on, then we'll smack them in for fun.

Badger Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 THIS !!! Strange, i was thinking the other day that Zola would be a good stab in the dark IF Pardew was sacked. I thought Zola ended up looking pretty clueless at West Ham.Can't see him being a motivator in L1 somehow. So, hope for a win today and put this rumour to rest.
ottery st mary Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 Saints 3-1 Barnard 2 and Lambert. Pards is the man and King Nic for President. WIFM Some of you so called Saints supporters should be ashamed....
NickG Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 Saints 3-1 Barnard 2 and Lambert. Pards is the man and King Nic for President. WIFM Some of you so called Saints supporters should be ashamed.... 3-1? Get some optimism going!
ottery st mary Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 WIFM...........Come on you Mighty Saints.... OWTSGMI YES 3-1.............To the Saints.........Put all your money on this great result for Saints.....I think I might be right for a change..... Hopefully.. So as you know I am well down the prediction league but hoping to make a late surge around xmas with our new manager Sir Alex Ferguson..
Mr Saints Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 Would be very harsh to drop Barnard, he's been our best player so far this season. I reckon it will be the same team as Bolton with Guly appearing in the second half.

I reckon it will be the same team as Bolton with Guly appearing in the second half. trouble with Barnard this season so far is that he does an awful lot but with zero end product,no doubt this will change sometime soon.
Thedelldays Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 on another note...it seems theo has finally realising his potential.. another great finish..
WealdSaint Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 I hope today the Dam will break for Barnard and he will get 2 or 3 goals.
dubai_phil Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 Such a tense build up today..... Will we actually be able to log into Saints Player in a timely fashion and will be get to hear the legend that is DM? Very worried about today. Football will be fine
Thedelldays Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 I have a feeling dave will be whispering an awful lot today..
m4ttdog Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 saints 2-1 guly to score on debut with a rpper WIFM
Leicestersaint Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 3-1 to Saints -it really is time to start winning.
ottery st mary Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 I feel a two way radio set...or two tin cans and a piece of string.. between Dave Merrington and Pards is called for.... Extensions in place for Merringtons axe grinders.. being prepared... I am sure that Pards will be reassured that backing is on its way.. WIFM
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 First day in the new house in London and no way of listening to saints player :-( I wonder if they'd notice if I stayed in the apple store with my earphones plugged into a mac for a couple of hours...
Saint Fan CaM Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 Saints to win 2-0...we'll be too much for them. WIFM. COYS!
Saint_lambden Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 Kelvin Davis, Dan Harding, Jose Fonte, Danny Butterfield, Aaron Martin, Morgan Schneiderlin, Jason Puncheon, Dean Hammond, Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Lee Barnard. Subs : Bartosz Bialkowski, Ryan Dickson, Guly do Prado, Radhi Jaidi, Paul Wotton, David Connolly, Alex Chamberlain. COYS WIFM

So for that alone I'm doubly hoping we can put in a performance today and put some points on the table. I think Cortese is a lot more patient than you give him credit for. You only have to look at last season to see that. If we were to lose today, it would not surprise me if Cortese started viewing what alternatives he might have, but I really do not feel he would act for a few games more. But I do not see it coming to that as I expect Saints to put in a performance that will put that idea to bed until the next defeat. I fully expect Pardew to have it all sorted and the team put in a very solid, professional performance.
NickG Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 btw, has anyone said "must win game" yet? 'fraid so
Weston Saint Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 Safety first team again! We have a new exciting player who came to us rather than looking at Roma etc and we put him on the bench and play the same midfield that has got us 1 point only.
ericofarabia Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 This time difference lark is taken some getting used to. KO at 1500 instead of 1800 0r 1900 means Mrs EoA isn't going to be impressed having to put up with a well oiled EoA from 1700 onwards!! Praying for a good win so at least I'll be in a good mood!!
Saint_clark Posted 28 August, 2010 Posted 28 August, 2010 Safety first team again! We have a new exciting player who came to us rather than looking at Roma etc and we put him on the bench and play the same midfield that has got us 1 point only. A new exciting player who has trained once in the last week. That team is still more than good enough for this league.
