Would help if we knew how to pronounce his name;

July

Julie

Gully

Goolie

Something else?

His full name of Guilherme is probably pronounced something like guwillerm, with the uw very short, so God knows how he get Goolie as a nickname, but the song just has to be ging gang goolie watcha, as others have said.

Just as long as he avoids being kicked in the nicknames!

Ging gang Guly anyone .....

I just suggested that one on another thread, I guess you must be about my age too to be able to remember that as well.

Ver good Paris, you must be about my age too, my little five year old sings it just because he thinks its funny.

I think it'd be pronoucned

"gooLEEEE" with a slight Brazilian/Portuguese twang and inflection on the 2nd syllable (going on the accents/pronunciations in City of God)

On a more serious note, the Gin Gang one fits - especially just after he scores or clatters an opponent by slightly changing one word

Ging gang goolie goolie goolie goolie GOTCHA,

Ging gang goo, ging gang goo.

Can you imagine this being sung in "rounds" with the Northam starting off and continuing the "oompah....." whilst the Kingsland massive sing the verse... then they join in the "oompah...." and the Itchen do the verse..... and then we all sing the whole verse again?

No? Neither can I?!

Oh be fair, when I go to League games I have to sit with my mates.

They've got ST's in the Chapel...

Think it would be a song for that end - after all it's a Scouts song and the Family enclosure is there

The Puncheon Guly Show

Nice. Not sure of the song element tho...

Are we all going to shout 'that's the way to do it' when the opposition score?

Or do we hit the person next to us with a rolling pin?

I endorse Ging Gang Goolie too....very funny. Be sure to start this pls. Seems to be a hit with us expats. Poor Guilherme will never understand the cultural significance, but that makes it all the better... :)

Look on the positive side though...

The song's old enough for the blanket round the knees & flask of coffee brigade so they might join in...

Failing that the only other idea on the Puncheon Judy theme is that Coldplay hit from a few years back that had the band as Punch & Judy characters.. Now what was that called? Can see the Northam doing Coldplay....

Hmm Coldplay - just the song for a mid-winter Tuesday night oop north
