According to Wikipedia, 9 goals in 34 appearances in Serie A last season? Pretty amazing/unlikely stats for a player in our sights?

Is that all? Unless he's got a goal ratio of a goal a game he aint worth bothering with.

Reminds me of the Papa Waigo deal, came out of nowhere. (actually, all our signings have been like that haven't they?)

If it's true, i'd imagine Cortese's contacts have come into play again.

Rumour has it he has the same agent as Antonio.

Again, that could be carp,am finding it a little difficult to confirm.

i would assume they mean papa?

The only transfer I can remember being publicly released was the Dean Hammond one at the start of last year. The OS actually had an article saying that we had agreed a fee and we're in talks. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1759215,00.html

Apart from that one, they have all come out of the blue.

Exactly the type of central midfielder we've been crying out for. I truly hope this one is true - we would score hatfulls with this guy involved.

You hope. You are judging this based on a 4 minute video, before today had you ever heard of him? I hadn't, he does look good, but if they made a 4 minute video of my best bits from my last 2 season i'd look like a world class player too

Haven't we been here before, name rings a bell. I just knew we would sign De Pedro/Do Prado at some time in my life time.

If this is true hope he signs quickly, we should try placing a bid in for Antonio also, he still a bench player for Reading and we need pace in the team badly. Both of them would fit straight into the squad.

I don't say this lightly, according to two of my Italian friends,ex workmates, they say and i quote"he will become a favourite with all the fans" and "he is masterful with his control of the ball and his shooting"

Facebook has it's usess.

Is Puncheon the new whipping boy ?

If he continues to put in performances like that he will be. Seemed clueless on passing, taking on players and shooting.

Yep. Dunno why though, no one gave him any options so he ha to try and keep possession on his own, making him

look selfish and not very good. Puncheon is a good player.

Every time he got the ball? Don't be ridiculous. Sometimes it seemed as though he was waiting to be challenged just so he could try some over-fancy skills that again didn't come off.

Also, hitting the roof of the stand from 18 yards is not a sign of a good player.

What are you on? Punchon played well I thought. He was the only one with barnard who looked like doing anything. He was really strong on the ball. Lallana was the one who was off the pace today. Hammond was rubbish again. Punchon isnt the problem imo.

I don't think puncheon is a bad player but i do think he needs a kick up the arse. He's playing badly at the moment and not thinking on the ball. He also seems to think that he has to beat ten players before he can cross (not that there was anyone in the box for him for most of today's game).

Again i think that comes back to the manager, bollock him at half time, sub him if it continues and then for a last resort drop him if his attitude doesn't change. Same thing goes with dropping Jaidi, the whole ground can see he's not up to it any more (it's sadly a bit like Perry last season that you can see he's got too old).
