The stadium was closed for business yesterday, hopefully (if Pilchards info is correct) things will pick up dramatically now.

 

OK it's "only" Orient but what an opportunity to show our thanks and respect the Liebherr family.

 

Fingers crossed for an eventual 25k+.

 

That would still be so poor.

 

55k got the chance to go to Wembley because of him and probably enjoyed one of their best saints supporting days.

 

you'd think just over half of that attedance could muster up an appereance against leyton orient to say thanks.

I suggest you try reading again. I was asking if he has a reason to be pessimistic, and he was happy to answer.

 

If someone asks me why I hold a certain opinion on a given issue, I am also happy to explain myself.

 

Apart from when it comes to confirming which player is out injured for the season obviously.

 

Oh i know what you asked him, i just find it funny that the king of the half glass empty is asking someone else why they are being pessimistic.

I agree in parts, but i understand that the club were planning things for this game and with the shockingly low attendance, these cannot go ahead (mozaics possibly)

ridiculous attitude to take, of course it matters what the attandance is.

 

Perhaps the poor performance at home to Plymouth and the ticket tax are putting off more people.

 

but even still for this game there should be at least 27-28k due to the significance of the fixture, would be nice to have a decent atmosphere for once as well, the plymouth game was like a library it was so quiet.

I reckon the 18.5k figure must be wrong. Why would they open block 43 for Saints fans a fair few days ago if that is all that has been sold. Ticket office often gets these things wrong, I'm still expecting 25k absolute minimum.

I'm going to me that is all that counts. With people travelling from afar, those who can't be bothered and live locally should maybe look at themselves and not get on their high horses when we get to Wembley again etc.

I'm sure they'll all come out the woodwork should we reach Wembley again. The least people could do is turn up just for this one game,if no more and show everyone, not least his family, what Markus meant to us. Theres nowhere else in the world i'd rather be come 2.59 Saturday.

Not doubting Pilchards credibility, but the ticket office staff have got it wrong before, so don't take what they say as gospel.

 

We've seen it countless times on here even, where someone purchasing tickets has asked how sales are going and the response they've received has been wide of the mark.

 

I don't think we'll get close to a sell-out, but I'd hope for 25K at least. I do think we'll get a fair few more than 18,500 though.

I hope Pilchards is wrong or that is a joke of a turn out from the saints fans.

 

Especially seeing as they said a `bumper crowd` is expected the other day on the OS.

Why do you all constantly try and guess the attendance of the game before it happens? The exact figure will be printed AFTER the game, this has always been the case.

 

It's so Gimp A (who guessed correctly) can say "I told you so" to Gimp B who guessed wrongly.

my guess would be 23/24k, which for leyton orient home is not that bad also considering the events of the past week. attendances for start of the season are usually down due to people on holiday. i know people on here wont accept it being down to holidays but honestly it is. also if you are like me and have no money until pay day then you wont be able to afford to go.

why is the attendance such an issue.? It is a L1 game against L1 opposition. To get crowds of 20k is marvellous and those of us moaning about fans not turning up in memory and thanks should look at themselves if they did not take time off work and make the effort to go to the memorial service.

I didn't go, but ML will forever be in my thoughts, i don't need events at the ground to mark my respects and in a way it is an unfortunate distraction (the events)as ML would want us to hit the floor running, not risk falling behind because the players/fans minds are distracted.

Well I'm going. Not an ST holder and usually only make a handful of games a season. I'd imagine there are a few like me who would want to (a) pay their respects to ML and (b) see the league champions elect kick start their season.

 

I reckon we'll get over 25K. Just a guess mind.

well if the attendance figure is being used to equate how much respect is given to ML then it is not just about guessing how bums are on seats. The thrust was going on about how bad it was that fans were not turning up as Markus had sadly passed away.

As i stated 20k is still a great attendance for L1 and should not be seen as a negative. There was never going to be a full house for Orient

No.

 

I refrained from getting a Season Ticket on principle, it just happened that it actually works out cheaper for me to not have one due to the amount of spares/corporates I get offered each season.

 

HOWEVER

 

I bought a ticket for this game as I see it as a memorial to Marcus Liebherr, the man who potentially saved our club.

I have just been to get my cup tickets for Bolton / Swindon asked friendly chap how sales are going for Saturday, he replied

 

" we are just getting towards 20,000 so hopefully by Saturday will be decent crowd"

Heard it was over 27k sold including ST's....... So if there was a good walk up on Saturday may reach 30K

 

That must have been busy half hour for ticket office!

Times are hard for many and football is an expensive hobby. People should not be so judgemental. If 26,000 go it will be the biggest league 1 of the day and one of the biggest of the season.
