I reckon they'll sell a lot of tickets on Thursday, as presumably Markus' memorial service will be covered on the news and people will want to go to the game as a result of that. I think we'll get just under 30k in the end.

Quite a lot of people on hols still plus people waiting for pay day so wont hold my breath on a big crowd although £22 for adult and under 8 is not bad.

I reckon 23/24k max.

It will definitely be more than that. 27/28k minimum I reckon.

Not too sure how that will make any difference?

Not so sure how holidays will make 5-6 thousand difference to be fair. Are you aware there is that many saints fans on holiday?

I'm assuming we will make an exception to our new policy and have a minutes silence or possibly clapping? Can we follow this with a rousing chorus of Oh When the Saints at a medium speed? Be nice if the Sally Army Band could be there and lead us so we can all keep in time and not rush off at the end. Sing it more as a hymn of respect on this occasion.

Silence not clapping.

I think applauses were only brought in so they can't get ruined by idiots who can't stay silent for 1 minute.

Well, the few thousand armchair fans out there will see that this is an important time for SFC and that the game on Saturday will be of huge importance, and get down there to join the occasion and help to remember a great man.

I think anyone who would care enough to come along to the game, will already know about it, really can't see a news article influencing anyone either way.

I'm guessing Orient will bring probably a 1k or a bit less, am I right in thinking that block 43 has been opened up for Saints fans? Always a sign of a good crowd.

Yeah block 43 is open. I would imagine Itchen North along with that too.

1) There really should be a crowd of up to 30k for this, probably not a complete sell out, but using holidays etc as an excuse is not good enough in my opinion, 50k to Wembley we should be able to manage 30k for this, we even had that for Exeter at home last year. (ok there was a special £10 deal on)

2) Has to be a minutes silence. It is what is is supposed to be, a mark of respect, I cannot stand minutes applause can you imagine them doing that at the cenotaph on rememberance sunday?

hopefully the club issue an update tomorrow on the numbers sold.

Well there weren't many seats left in the Kingsland yesterday when I purchased for someone else. The lady on the phone said tickets were "selling very well as it was Leyton Orient" and that they saw something similar for the away game last season.:D

Posted
On monday the ticket man said spaces were limited. I reckon it will reach around 28k. You can email the ticket office if you really want to know..cant remember the address but its on the OS

Doubt they'd be allowed to tell us these days.

I also think it'll be a average attendance. Sorry, but I don't think Liebherr dying is going to cause the "fringe fans" turn up. That only happens when we're on a roll, or for an important game.

Any particular reason for your pessimism ?

ST will be counted as attending

The regular is likely to attend.

What motivates the occassional fan?

- a good record of home wins?

- a match against a rival?

- a good quality opposition?

- a new signing?

- cheap price?

- nothing better to do?

- a mate is going?

- getting priority for tickets for another top match?

- death of a loved and respected owner?

the above is not in any order of priority.

As I said happy to be proved wrong.

I guess I fall into the "fringe fans" category these days as I don't go that often anymore due to family, cost etc. But I've changed my plans this weekend as for me it feels like the best way to say thanks to Markus. You might be right, but then again there may be a few more like me, regardless I'm sure it will be a unique atmosphere.

It should be a sell out. As already said if we can get 55k to Wembley then we should be able to fill St Marys to honour the man who saved this club.

If we don't sell out I for one would be very upset.....

True fans will want to pay their respects and remember what Markus did for us all..... 32000 minimum get everyone you know to go......remind them, pay for their ticket, do whatever it takes!!!!!

I asked the girl at the ticket office today how many tickets were still available, she said she didn't know, but thought there were "quite a few" left, though these were mainly in the corners...

Posted

Just out of interest, I booked my tickets last night...just a question, but why can a Senior Ticket in the corner between Chapel and Kingsland be £10, but £19 in the Kingsland/Northam Corner?

Also I thought that behind both goals the prices were the same?? Chapel £19 Northam £22?

I'm not complaining, just interested if anyone knows. I like the Northam but the 'stand up if you love the Saints' chant pees me right off.... I'll sit down if I want. Doesn't make me less of a fan....haha

Oh my god!!! You just get better!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I suggest you try reading again. I was asking if he has a reason to be pessimistic, and he was happy to answer.

If someone asks me why I hold a certain opinion on a given issue, I am also happy to explain myself.

The chapel is the family end, I believe the corner is the family enclosure or some such. It costs less becuase you have to sit next to the likes of me and my brats or among the barely awake coffin dodgers:D

So what, 22k?

We'll see.

Why? If they're not that @rsed, I'd rather they didn't bother if they need that much encouragement to attend.

Why do you all constantly try and guess the attendance of the game before it happens? The exact figure will be printed AFTER the game, this has always been the case.

Really? Never heard of that before! Thankfully we have posters such as yourselves on here to put us right.

That's fair enough, but the Northam probably isn't the best place to head to then if you want to sit down........

18,500 sold at 10.30 this morning.

that's ****e!

Good job it's been well advertised in all the local papers, so that everyone knows the circumstances, otherwise we'd really be in the mire

The stadium was closed for business yesterday, hopefully (if Pilchards info is correct) things will pick up dramatically now.

OK it's "only" Orient but what an opportunity to show our thanks and respect the Liebherr family.

Fingers crossed for an eventual 25k+.
