GenevaSaint Posted 16 August, 2010 Share Posted 16 August, 2010 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/8333601.Child_porn_downloader_escapes_jail_sentence/ Plain wrong, it would devastate my family business and I've "got treatment" guv honestly. He was downloading and distributing child porn for 4 years, not just a few times. What is the British justice system coming to?
Saint_clark Posted 16 August, 2010 Share Posted 16 August, 2010 (edited) I know someone who got 2 years because a 15 year old sent a picture of herself to his phone. How someone can escape prison time when they have over 500 images of under 13s on their hard drive is beyond me. Saint in Paradise Posted 16 August, 2010 Share Posted 16 August, 2010 I suspect that his business will suffer anyway now that he has been named.
Spudders Posted 16 August, 2010 Share Posted 16 August, 2010 I know someone who got 2 years because a 16 year old sent a picture of herself to his phone. I don't really understand this? Surely once a person is above the age of consent, legally it's not a problem (regardless of personal opinion)?
Pancake Posted 16 August, 2010 Share Posted 16 August, 2010 I know someone who got 2 years because a 16 year old sent a picture of herself to his phone. I find that very hard to believe. Sorry, may well be genuine and you may just be saying what you have been told, and no offence meant SC; but I think either someone has had you on or you are stretching the truth. There was a piece in the local paper down here about it, will have a look.
Spudders Posted 16 August, 2010 Share Posted 16 August, 2010 Ah 15, makes more sense, but to be honest if it really were just a case of her sending him a picture unprovoked I can't see that he'd get 2 years. In my opinion I expect there was more to it than that?
Saint_clark Posted 16 August, 2010 Share Posted 16 August, 2010 She claimed he asked her for it. Not sure about the ins and outs or if anything else came up, and he only ended up serving 8 months, but I know i've got the original sentencing right. tpbury Posted 16 August, 2010 Share Posted 16 August, 2010 How old was he? 16? - maybe understandable. 25? - out of order.
