doddisalegend Posted 22 August, 2010 Share Posted 22 August, 2010 well..if rumours are true, then the next league game is must win or its bye bye pardew.... Prehaps then someone else will come in and lets hope they win quick or they'll be out too and the merry go round will keep going until someone gets it right. I was fully behind AP last seasonI felt he did a good job. This years a new season we will see how he does. I'm not to upset becuase in both league matches I've seen we have been the much better team we had 17 shots at goal yesterday we are creating chance glorie just can't quite find that final touch to get them in the back of the net as soon as that happens we will be fine. Kingsbridge Saint Posted 22 August, 2010 Share Posted 22 August, 2010 The fact that we collapse completely and utterly when we concede a goal suggests the team is a bunch of pussies with no heart. This starts and ends with the manager. Pardew simply has to get this sorted, and he might start by having a word with his captain.
Matty's Caddy Posted 22 August, 2010 Share Posted 22 August, 2010 already we are at that stage..and we are 6 points behind already too.. a nice win against orient is very much needed (as well as for obvious reasons).. dropping points here and we will be playing catch up (again) Really? must win? OMG sorry, am i still stalking you, is it any wonder?

What ****ing match were you watching there was no collapse we had 17 attempts on goal to there 5. Quite a few players were throwing themselves into tackles and challenges yesterday hence the yellow cards and stopping to let the physios on to the pitch every five miniutes in the second half. The only crime the team committed yesterday (and against plymouth) was not putting away some of the many chances they made for themselves. Our biggest problem at the moment is finishing not heart or spirit.

Our biggest problem at the moment is finishing not heart or spirit. Have to agree with the above. Yesterdays game could have very easily been 4-1, had it not been for two shots off the woodwork and at least one top class save from their keeper. Yes our passing in the last third was poor and I think Barnard was frustrated with having to deal with poor delivery. I am positive he would have made a lot more of the game had he been given decent ball. Almost without exception he was holding up a high ball and then having to turn. Both him and Lambert were closely marked and this led to the lack of better finishing chances. Lambert is still not match fit and looked a little lethargic towards the end. I was surprised he was not taken off instead of Barnard. Lallana is also still not right up to speed in my opinion, but showed some flashes of class, which will be the winning difference when he is fully fit. Puncheon I felt took a lot of stick, but still looked like the midfielder that was most likely to deliver the killer pass. Its only our second league outing and there is clearly still so much more too come. I for one am not worried just yet, if you look at the results so far there is nobody who is really outstanding. If we are worried about the likes of Bournemouth and Carlisle at this at this stage then we really are in problems. For me, we still need more strength in the midfield and this will then open up the firepower up front. Jaidi is also an issue. He is a powerhouse in the air, but absoulutely no pace running backwards to cover. This is a weekness the pacey teams will exploite. Overall just keep the faith and get behind the team........................ booing the team like yesterday is just crazy! COYR
