Kingsbridge Saint Posted 20 December, 2010 Author Share Posted 20 December, 2010 Run by a family from the Black country. Proper curry - they even do Balti bowls to eat out of if you want. And the curries are thick and potent!
tpbury Posted 20 December, 2010 Share Posted 20 December, 2010 Hi Mate, we met at a Roar game a few months ago. My footie/beer experiences have been severely limited by money and time! I have a killer question concerning Spice Avenue - how are they on veggie curries? My partner would love me forever if we could get a decent veggie curry (muttar paneer, chana - anything inventive with no meat). Now, even the most average place in the UK can normally sort out a decent veggie curry (though some places are worse than others) - the question is - do you think this place can do a decent veggie curry? I think we would weep tears of gratitude if we travelled the 50k from Redcliffe to Birkdale and got a proper (veggie) curry!

I little pricey maybe?, but worth every penny Spoke with owner last night - they're closed for xmas, reopen 28th I think he said... Melbourne Saint Posted 24 December, 2010 Share Posted 24 December, 2010 Congrats on the performance of your team this season and the way you are keeping the Saints flag flying in Brisbane! I was at our controversial 3-3 match a few weeks ago and while I was livid at the time there's no questioning the quality of your team. We're finally starting to turn things down and hopefully might get another chance at the Roar in the finals!

sfc76 Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Hey guys..... Firstly hope everyone in around Brisbane is safe and well....!? I think brightspark had the right idea to go down south to the CCM game tonight Secondly, 6-NIL AWAY! Nice. Think that's 19 goals, one let in in the last 5 games.... COYR! I've just seen the Suncorp's gone under water (and is on fire as I write, small generator fire hopefully comes to no more...). This also means the office I work in next to the river in Milton/North Quay is also getting its feet very wet... yippe! Given that, and the general situation, reckon Saturday's game is very doubtful... btw, where I live on bayside, you wouldn't even know anything was happening..... Consider myself very lucky. I'm 'working at home' today, and probably all week...

tpbury Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 9 News had "vision" of the iconic Suncorp in a metre of water (remember Hillsborough a couple of years ago very similar). They were saying how people would think of State of Origin and Rugby Union matches. I was exclaiming "What about Roar finishing the title fccrissakes!" This could jeopardise the title, and winning it would be an emotional boost for QLD people!

sfc76 Posted 19 January, 2011 Share Posted 19 January, 2011 fyi - this is what Suncorp Stadium is currently saying... "The initial clean-up has been completed and work has now commenced on the massive recovery programme ahead. The progress of these extensive works and the availability of essential equipment and trades will influence when the Stadium will be ready for events to be held. The next scheduled Brisbane Roar games against the Wellington Phoenix on 26 January and Melbourne Heart on 29 January will be played at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast." Go the Roar. busy weekend that one, the Roar down the goldcoast, Saints beating Man U at 3:15am and then England v Aussie on the 5th one day at the Gabba on the Sunday 30th, 3 wins outta 3???? hope everyone is safe from the King Tide on Bayside? heard it was a bit messy.
