Big John Posted 13 August, 2010 Posted 13 August, 2010 I was thinking...Will Nicola be needed in Switzerland for a while now, helping to put his affairs in order. He was a personal friend and must be very upset right now. Maybe someone could slart a thread with messages for Nicola, all he must hear from here is that there is constant bickering! Sympathies to you too Nicola, may (your) God help you to find the strength to carry on. And worry not, most are 100% behind you, take assume time out for yourself and we'll keep the team motivated, when you come back the Club will be in rude health I am sure.
darren Posted 13 August, 2010 Posted 13 August, 2010 I was doing my teaching tonight and a student of mine saw my Saints tracksuit top as I like to keep warmed up beforehand. Anyway being the man that he is we got talking about it. Anyway it only turns out that his wife was the ex PA for Cortese and talking alittle longer in the short time I had, He said he is a business man and thats what he is, people find him difficult because he is a winner and thats just it. Anyway Markus according to him was not ILL when he bought the club and that he had a very serious short Illness that only those close to him knew about. He has setup a fund for us and it will help us become a force in the Premiership as Markus passion for us was the greatest satisfaction he had. He said he heard so many stories about the club and I'm sure to ask him for more on Sunday, however If it is the sort of news that needs to stay off this forum I will do so. WIFM How would an ex pa know this
Pilchards Posted 13 August, 2010 Posted 13 August, 2010 How would an ex pa know this How would I know? If they left last month then they would have contacts still. Like I said I only spoke for a few minutes and I shall ask more another day.

Initially he used Oldknow's PA, then last season he recruited one for himself who was brought up to speed by Oldknow's PA, who after Oldknow left, was treated really well by NC and given the chance to do a job she wanted. She speaks well of NC and is intensely loyal and doesn't discuss the club's business with anyone, even her parents who sit by me. I didn't know NC's PA had left.

And if I PM'd you the surname of Oldknows ex pa - bingo we are talking about the same person perhaps. So they left last year, they still would know somethings in the club. Anyway I just thought I would share my info and not expected to be grilled! Edited 13 August, 2010 by Pilchards

SaintBobby Posted 13 August, 2010 Posted 13 August, 2010 How would an ex pa know this My PA knows a lot about me and my affairs. I don't find this implausible at all.
Matthew Le God Posted 14 August, 2010 Author Posted 14 August, 2010 My PA knows a lot about me and my affairs. I hope your wife doesn't read this forum.
St. Jason Posted 14 August, 2010 Posted 14 August, 2010 I was thinking...Will Nicola be needed in Switzerland for a while now, helping to put his affairs in order. And worry not, most are 100% behind you, take assume time out for yourself and we'll keep the team motivated, when you come back the Club will be in rude health I am sure. I feel for anyone that has loved and lost, I lost my Dad last year and it's a totally devastating experience, which I'm still struggling to come to terms with BUT I'm not a hypocrite. I wish Mr. Cortesse well but I still question his complete lack of communication skills with the us fans. Not a single explanation for the removal of the payment plan, no notification to existing season ticket holders about pricing or renewals. He's totally alienated our club from the local and national press to the extent where we are now referred to as "South Coast Team"! I've heard and read people saying "fook the echo, fook The Sun" but it's a very dangerous game to play, even more so with the tragic death of Marcus. Yes, this year we don't need any sponsorship because of Markus's money but what about next year? Who's to say the trust that Markus set up to fund Saints will not need sponsorship? Be honest, A shirt sponsor is normally a National company, which national company would pay for that privileged without national coverage?? Read the papers tomorrow and note the pictures, the pictures are all of players and the common denominator is that the pictures are mostly full frontal, showing the Sponsor!! So yes, massive sympathy to Mr. Cortesse for the loss of his friend and I wish you all the best and hope you surround yourself with as much family and friend you need to help soath the pain, but there are lessons to be learnt! God bless Leibherr family and friends!
Viking Warrior Posted 14 August, 2010 Posted 14 August, 2010 I is a couple of days on Since Saint Markus passed away but Im still deeply shocked. Anyway Markus trusted the club in the Hands of Nicola Cortose. markus has a very good general in Nicola. whilst some may moan about NC > I will not he equally has the future of the club firmly in his hands. he is a very close friend of the Liebherr family , an astute business man and well respected high up in the world of finance. Im so gratefull that Markus had a trusted General alongside him Tkake us forward NC you have my total backing for the future of the club.

Still working there in the job she wanted. the comment was really I didn't know that NC's PA had left and thought she was still doing the job.
shurlock Posted 15 August, 2010 Posted 15 August, 2010 http://www.20min.ch/ro/news/economie/story/28109626 Seemed like until his death he was still in the business of rescuing struggling companies and finding employment for their staff.
