NickG Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 sorry for new thread but thought would get lost in tribute and thought you might want to see these: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/Gallery/0,,10280~2119163,00.html http://yfrog.com/2dd3sj
Viking Warrior Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Thanks to all the lads and lasses who are laying tributes at the club. Im along way away so thank you all for laying tributes to Markus
Glasgow_Saint Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 Can some post any of the flicker pics directly on here? I can access the link from work?? Also fair play to all those that have been to the ground today......
Dave Benson Phillips Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 (edited) Would be nice to see the whole area outside the front of St Marys filled with scarfs/flowers etc. Never been one for public mourning or the 'scouser way', but personally I am going to make the effort to pop up there tommorow and pay my respects. Hopefully everyone else does as well... to me that would be a fitting short-term tribute to the man. And from a completely selfish point of view... if the Liebherr family see how respected and loved the guy is, it might just help them decide to get more involved with his football club, or at the very least... keep it. Agreed, never been one for public mourning, but due to him being such a private person this is the only way a tribute can be made. Shame I can't get down there...
Tractor_Saint Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 For slideshow : For pics : Should be in high enough resolution if you select the biggest pic to read most shirts etc.
JustMike Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 was very eery down there this morning, plenty of people, just stood there, not saying a word to each other, just the odd nod here and there.
Thedelldays Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 this will build and build till the Orient game....I have a feeling that when we put out first in the net, the cheer will be pretty big...
Tractor_Saint Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 this will build and build till the Orient game....I have a feeling that when we put out first in the net, the cheer will be pretty big... Was going on holiday on the morning of the Orient game so had given my season tickets away to family. Had to now buy them tickets instead and delay going on holiday because we have to be there for this game.
ladysaint Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 The tributes are certainly growing, I hope SFC collect up all the floral tributes and place them in buckets of water to prolong the life of them it will look so much nicer as well.
niceandfriendly Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 this will build and build till the Orient game....I have a feeling that when we put out first in the net, the cheer will be pretty big... I hope everything will still be there for the Orient game as I can't get down to SMS before then to add my tribute. (China is a rather long way to come just to lay flowers , but I'll be coming for the game so hope it all remains.)
saint_bert Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 Went down about 6ish. Was some really nice words wrote on the tributes. WIFM

Im the same. Like yesterday I felt numb. I said to myself have a word, but the way I see it, the club means everything to me and without him, it wouldnt have been there. So the least I could do was stick a message on a shirt.
Chin Strain Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 Yea, my mate took the photo. And mine - small world. Great pic. Great words.

Here is my small tribute to Markus http://twitpic.com/2e91n1 Oh my, hello Natalie. - I know of you, this is a fact, we have mutual friends and EVERYTHING! Just to keep this on topic and so I don't get infracted. Can you translate that message into English please? And double on topic, I am going to show my face down there this afternoon and pay my respects, the book of condolance is available from 1pm for anyone whom feels like it.
Hatch Posted 13 August, 2010 Posted 13 August, 2010 does anyone know if you can buy photos from the club? Prior to Wednesday, that was the only thing people were talking about on here.
stevegrant Posted 13 August, 2010 Posted 13 August, 2010 Just to keep this on topic and so I don't get infracted. Can you translate that message into English please? It says: Rest in peace, Markus. Thankyou for everything! We will miss you. Best wishes, the Kitcher family
NickG Posted 13 August, 2010 Author Posted 13 August, 2010 I was trying to work out what it was in her post he didn't understand!

saint_mears Posted 17 August, 2010 Posted 17 August, 2010 any one got any pics of outside ground-have not been up there since friday! has it grown Yes its grown on the main front doors and is now also on two additional spots either side near stand entrances.
Nexstar Posted 17 August, 2010 Posted 17 August, 2010 Taken yesterday lunchtime This is the main area, outside the entrance. But there are 2 more memorial areas, about a third of the size, on turnstiles A and B of the Itchen Stand.
paris Posted 17 August, 2010 Posted 17 August, 2010 Thanks that quite impressive .... My mum popped down with some flowers on my behalf so there in there somewhere ....
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 17 August, 2010 Posted 17 August, 2010 Looking good. It would be good if they could section off a big square all the way from the building to the edge of Ted's statue on Saturday so that they can all be put together and people can add to it. I'm sure the Orient players can walk from the car park.
St Joan Posted 17 August, 2010 Posted 17 August, 2010 Looking good. It would be good if they could section off a big square all the way from the building to the edge of Ted's statue on Saturday so that they can all be put together and people can add to it. I'm sure the Orient players can walk from the car park. It seems that this is what will happen. I spoke to two stewards at the stadium this evening and they said that the plan was to put them altogether for Saturday. They also said that members of Markus' family will be coming to look tomorrow as they had been amazed to hear of the many fans' tributes.
paris Posted 17 August, 2010 Posted 17 August, 2010 Can someone please try and get pics from tomorrow > his family at the ground ( if true ) + the memorial service ....
beatlesaint Posted 17 August, 2010 Posted 17 August, 2010 They also said that members of Markus' family will be coming to look tomorrow as they had been amazed to hear of the many fans' tributes. I hope that brings some comfort to them, to see the outpouring of grief from so many who never knew him yet hold him in such high esteem for saving the club. It takes a special man to touch the lives of so many people who never had the pleasure to meet him.
beatlesaint Posted 17 August, 2010 Posted 17 August, 2010 Can someone please try and get pics from tomorrow > his family at the ground ( if true ) + the memorial service .... I was wondering wether to take my camera but wondered if it was in poor taste to take pictures of people going into a memorial service in a church.
hamster Posted 17 August, 2010 Posted 17 August, 2010 I hope to meet one or two of you tomorrow afternoon if you are down there. There's a few clients who we can't fit on the bus for the Orient gam so I'm bringing them down to pay their respects. Give us ahand with the wheeelchairs if you see me struggling PLEEEEASE. I WILL NOT GET EMOTIONAL I WILL NOT GET EMOTIONAL ......

It takes a special man to touch the lives of so many people who never had the pleasure to meet him. If members of his family do come over today, that's really nice of them to make the effort. I hope they go away realising how grateful we are for his intervention last summer.
eelpie Posted 18 August, 2010 Posted 18 August, 2010 For slideshow : For pics : Should be in high enough resolution if you select the biggest pic to read most shirts etc. rally nice pic. Mods - how about putting a picture of Markus on our top banner?
