patred44 Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 what's our chances against the second most hated club in this division?:)
gjphilsaint Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I shall be there to cheer on the Saints... I predict a 2-2 result, it sounds like we are yet to fire up front and our defence still need to get into their stride...
Weston Super Saint Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I'm going for : Franchise FC 1, South Coast Team 2
Hatch Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Franchise FC 0 - South Coast Team 2 scorers. Young winger and Scouse striker.
Jones91 Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I can't wait to see all the photos in the paper of this one
Spudders Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I bet the MK fans are looking forward to their cartoons!
jjsaint Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I think the result will depend largely on the fitness of Opposition Top Scorer. Without him I fear we could struggle through a 0-0 draw.
Bailey Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I expect to see Lallana and Lambert starting after coming through the Bournemouth game unscathed. I'd go with the following . . . ---------------------- Davis ------------------- Butterfield ----- Fonte ----- Jaidi ----- Harding Puncheon --- Hammond --- Schneiderlin --- Lallana -------------- Lambert ---- Barnard ------------- Subs: Bialkowski, Seabourne, Oxo, Wotton, Mills, Connolly, Dickson.
Appy Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I am looking forward to their managers pre match interview.
SaintNeil90 Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I am looking forward to their managers pre match interview. Its not Ince anymore, so there wont be any Saints bashing.
jam Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Its not Ince anymore, so there wont be any Saints bashing. Robinson was the saints-basher-in-chief last year. I don't remember Ince saying anything about us at all.
The9 Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I like this thread, it has amused me. If we can all stick to euphemisms for "Away Team wearing black training kit", "Wotsit" and "mouthy wannabe Guv'nor ex-Franchise manager" this will all be a lot more entertaining.
Appy Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Its not Ince anymore, so there wont be any Saints bashing. I know its not Ince, Its Karl Robinson's interviews that amused us so much last season.
dronskisaint Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I expect to see Lallana and Lambert starting after coming through the Bournemouth game unscathed. I'd go with the following . . . ---------------------- Davis ------------------- Butterfield ----- Fonte ----- Jaidi ----- Harding Puncheon --- Hammond --- Schneiderlin --- Lallana -------------- Lambert ---- Barnard ------------- Subs: Bialkowski, Seabourne, Oxo, Wotton, Mills, Connolly, Dickson. It's wrong I know but I get a semi just thinking how well that team can play if it all gels....
SuperMikey Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 FWIW, i'd start with Oxo up front again. MK are on about the same level as B'muff, and the lad can only improve with first team football. ------------------Davis----------------- Butterfield----Fonte----Martin----Harding Puncheon---Morgan----Deano-----Lallana ---------------Oxo----Lambert---------- Subs: Bart, Jaidi, Wotton, Dickson, Mills, Connolly, Barnard
Arizona Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I'm going to say 2-1 to South Coast Club. Goals scored by old black centre half and tall scouse striker (the latter being scored from White dot in penalty area).
Ashby Saint Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Seeing as Pele signed for them this work and ex-Oppo players always score against us. I'm going for 2:1 or 3:1 to the Opposition Team.
doddisalegend Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I think the New Towners are stronger than last year so It should be a good match they've picked up some interesting players plus they owe us some payback (well four paybacks really). However if scouse striker and young wonder kid from Bournemouth are playing I think we will be to good for them shame superfast Reading loanee won't be there to give their ginger winger LB a hard time like he did last season.
Andy_Porter Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Davis Butterfield - Fonte - Seaborne - Harding Hammond - Schneiderlin Oxo-Chamberlain - Puncheon - Lallana Lambert I'd like the see the three behind Lambert play more fluidly and changing positions more often than they did yesterday.
SaintDonkey Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Davis Butterfield - Fonte - Seaborne - Harding Hammond - Schneiderlin Oxo-Chamberlain - Puncheon - Lallana Lambert I'd like the see the three behind Lambert play more fluidly and changing positions more often than they did yesterday. If we can get the attacking midfielders performing that would be a great line up. Still I think it's a bit harsh on Barnard to leave him out - thought he played well in the first couple of games without getting the breaks.
farawaysaint Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Come on you Unnanmed South Coast Club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bjk Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 1-0 to Saints. I'm top of the prediction league with two correct results so far.

Maybe a little harsh but he's a fantastic option to have on the bench.
ohwhenthesaints Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Will be interesting to see how this one goes. Obviously we beat them four times last season so I would expect Karl Robinson/Pilkington to use that in his team talk in order to fire up the Dons. If we want to win the league though, these are the games we should be winning fairly easily.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 This is the most important game of the season this week. Indeed a must-win game otherwise we'll be doomed to relegation and AP will almost certainly be sacked. Plus we'll lose our best players as they'll not want to be a part of a losing team after so many games. 1-2 Saints. Easy.
docker-p Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 1-0 to Saints. I'm top of the prediction league with two correct results so far. Nobody likes a smart ass. I'm backing Franchise 1, Opposition 2.
syd_barrett_saint Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 FWIW, i'd start with Oxo up front again. MK are on about the same level as B'muff, and the lad can only improve with first team football. ------------------Davis----------------- Butterfield----Fonte----Martin----Harding Puncheon---Morgan----Deano-----Lallana ---------------Oxo----Lambert---------- Subs: Bart, Jaidi, Wotton, Dickson, Mills, Connolly, Barnard Oxo up front AGAIN? When did he play up front before? Unless I'm mistaken, Oxo was on the right wing against Bournemouth, with Puncheon playing up with Barnard. I would like to see Oxo tried up front with Lambert though - I think his pace to get onto Rickie's flick-ons etc could work well.
VectisSaint Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I predict Concrete Cows 1 North of Cowes 3 Prefer to see DC ahead of Barnard if RL is playing. We know DC and RL can work together as they showed early last season.
