I can only see one - the bloke in the foreground standing in front of the mountains.

Now look. I have made it perfectly clear that Apline is my buddy. Won't be hearing any nastiness like this. If you are after a virtual spanking, fine. Consider yourself fully chastised.

Solent have just confirmed that they have heard the names ''Nicky Butt'' and Robert Koren as players we're interested in.

No idea if it's just idle gossip or they are really ITK though.

I would be seriously moist with excitement if those two signings were on the horizon.

They have gone back to the Butt/Koren rumours on Saints player....anyone attach any credibility at all to this?

well it comes from Solent, and he said ''from what they've heard'' - rather than fan's texts.

thought i saw Koren linked with a few championship clubs earlier, but i am surprised he hasn't been snapped up as yet.

Ta. I know this is an unfashionable view but I quite like the idea of actually winning the odd game in this competition... maybe playing a big Premiership club in a couple of rounds time and being a 'giant killer'. I am fully aware that 2 extra games will probably ruin our chances of winning the League, but I quite like going to the odd big game at SMS and maybe winning.

Surely we could do a couple of extra games and finish second?

Pardew: crowd were jittery and negative...first 2 games this season unlike last year in terms of crowd...teams will raise their game against us this season as we're favourites.. If we are going to be negative in the stadium, it will spread to the team...our passes were jeered unless they were brilliant...we need the stadium right behind us or we're not going to be able to do it...as it happened, crowd got behind us from start of 2nd half, which helped my teamtalk. Lallana, Puncheon and Lambert are big, big players...like taking Gerrard and Torres out of Liverpool makes them very ordinary. Cliche that players need a good pre-season under their belt, one more game and Adam will be up to speed - players in this modern era just need to be toned. He's lacking a bit of that, as are Rickie and Punch. Oxlade-Chamberlain merited his place because he's shown pace and "Antonio isn't here" but I hope there will be competition for that soon. The Bournemouth supporters, team and manager were fantastic - Howe's tactics and players confused me. They can do well in League One. Didn't really want to put Lambert on, but felt he needed ten minutes to make it possible for him to play on Saturday.
