OldNick Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 i suspect Milner has been allowed to leave against his wishes
Saint Mikey Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Blimey, that's a shock. Maybe too many players are being sold from beneath him? Milner is almost certainly gone and Spurs are after Young. Thought he did well really, considering. Last year they got to the League Cup Final, FA Cup Semi and finished 6th. Unless you're Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal - that's a good season for any team.
Andy_Porter Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 I expect Milner and Young to leave now. Either that or Milner is being sold and MoN wasn't going to be given much of the money to re-invest. He's a clever bloke, he knows 25m for Milner is ridiculous money, he wouldn't quit just because they're selling him.
Hatch Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 yeah SSN say its due to their transfer policy if Villas transfer policy is to sell Milner for £25 mill, then I reckon they have a pretty good transfer policy.
Matthew Le God Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 yeah SSN say its due to their transfer policy No, they aren't. They are speculating what the reasons are.

Apparently the deal involves Stephen Ireland coming the other way valued between 8 and 10 million if rumours are to be believed. 15m + Ireland is just crazy for a player like Milner.

I suspect O'Niell fancied the cash to spruce the squad up a little bit, i think Ireland is very underated at Citeh and would do a bloody good job at Villa, but if he was perhaps told he wasn't getting the cash he is right to have walked.
keithd Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Villa operated a no bung policy apparently this is in no way the reason why he left
sotonjoe Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 I think it's due to how much of the Milner cash he would have been able to spend, not the principal behind selling Milner in the first place. Of course, he could be on his way to Saints.

View From The Top Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Speculation up here is that Randy Learner has told him that if a big offer comes in for Ashley Young he will be sold and that MON decided that the ambition at the club had max'd out and it was time to go. Learner was in the UK at the weekend by all accounts.
