Viking Warrior Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Very good cartoons But is the banning of the Herald more to do with the new group who are part of the Echo group by any chance
Spudders Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 It's a shame they have not included the red stripe in any of those pics, I wonder if they intentionally only showed the backs of saints players!
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Hilarious!! And none of this humour would have been possible if it wasn't down to Nic. Fair play Nic, bringing comedy back to the masses. I salute you sir.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Not sure we need this sort of cr@p...............
Son of Bob Posted 9 August, 2010 Author Posted 9 August, 2010 Not sure we need this sort of cr@p............... I don't think it's crap. Breathing a little humour into a bad situation is always positive.
OldNick Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 NC has now banned any pencils , watercolours and crayons entering the ground.
Chez Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 I didn't realise Richardson played or Krisztian Timar scored.
thesaint sfc Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Not sure we need this sort of cr@p............... Agreed - anything that's going to cause problems we could do without. Fair enough we're one of the richest clubs in the country - we don't need to be making controversial decisions like this and rocking the boat though! First decision NC has made which really does concern me - I can't see him changing his mind either!
Hatch Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Today Plymouth, tomorrow the World. not long before everyone is laughing at us...
Whitey Grandad Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Fantastic! The only complaint that I have is accuracy. I don't remember Harding getting that close to the ball when they scored.
Saint Stimp Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 The lifelong Argyle fan said: "It was brilliant. After the struggle for points last season, it was great to start with an away win, especially against Southampton." Especially against Southampton!?
Wurzel Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Pitch looks in pretty poor shape for the start of the season
LostBoys Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 I thought it was funny - I wonder what thy would have done if we had scored
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Typical Chapel End fan, more interested in complementing the away team then encouraging our own.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 That save wasn't at the Chapel End Is it not the save from Lallana's shot? Lallana came on in the second half, as we were shooting towards the Chapel. Hence the caption.
Whitey Grandad Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Is it not the save from Lallana's shot? Lallana came on in the second half, as we were shooting towards the Chapel. Hence the caption. That's what I thought when I first saw it. I didn't think number '2' was playing so I can only assume it must be '20'. Typical inaccurate match report.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 That's what I thought when I first saw it. I didn't think number '2' was playing so I can only assume it must be '20'. Typical inaccurate match report. Yeah, none of the numbers are accurate.
Wes Tender Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 I'm a bit surprised that an administrator sets the example of starting a new thread on a topic that is currently covered by another thread. The link to this cartoon had already been posted on the other thread. It's going to be a bit difficult for another mod to close it now, isn't it? But if the Plymouth local rag is anything like ours, cartoons would be appropriate, as that's also a comic. They really must have loved the opportunity to extend the possibilities to extend their coverage by several more column inches because of their righteous indignation and petulent foot-stamping. But now that issue is fish and chip wrapping and will soon be a distant memory, so they'll have to think up some other issue at next week's game.
Jonnyboy Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Word is spreading, the media loves this one http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/world-of-sport/article/21664/
Gigersaint Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Meanwhile on a PFC forum, the SFC media takeover thread reaches page 100.
buctootim Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Word is spreading, the media loves this one http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/world-of-sport/article/21664/ Have you noticed they've coloured in (no racism intended) the number 5's arms and legs. He was pink in the original but has gone back to brown now!
CB Fry Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Very good cartoons But is the banning of the Herald more to do with the new group who are part of the Echo group by any chance The Plymouth Evening Herald is owned by DMGT (Daily Mail General Trust) while our beloved Echo is owned by American group Gannett (Newsquest in the UK). So no, not connected. Evening Herald offices are in the shape of a giant ship, you know. I've been there. True story.
Badger Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Today Plymouth, tomorrow the World. not long before everyone is laughing at us... And just to think, in the past we've had to rely on a statue to achieve that.
Whitey Grandad Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 And just to think, in the past we've had to rely on a statue to achieve that. Just thinking about it makes me chuckle. What happened to it? Please don't tell me it was melted down.
docker-p Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Hilarious!! And none of this humour would have been possible if it wasn't down to Nic. Fair play Nic, bringing comedy back to the masses. I salute you sir. I agree, football needs more fools to laugh at.
eelpie Posted 9 August, 2010 Posted 9 August, 2010 Today Plymouth, tomorrow the World. not long before everyone is laughing at us... I don't think they stopped. Most of the world think we are still broke under the Lowe yoke.
Tartarus112 Posted 10 August, 2010 Posted 10 August, 2010 I am the only one who thinks it's a completely pointless banning outside photographers from our ground if the opposition are just going to hand over the same photo's anyway? What's the point? Does this mean Nicola is going to have a stand off with plymouth now?
Jimmy_D Posted 10 August, 2010 Posted 10 August, 2010 Just thinking about it makes me chuckle. What happened to it? Please don't tell me it was melted down. It was melted down and used to make the statue that stands there now. In a way, it's still stood there...
saintedwill Posted 10 August, 2010 Posted 10 August, 2010 is there any way we could get that bloke to do the pictures for the programme - i like it better than photos!
