Leicestersaint Posted 8 August, 2010 Posted 8 August, 2010 Cork has gone for 27 off 3 overs - what is going on??
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 8 August, 2010 Posted 8 August, 2010 Hants need 12 with 7 overs and 6 wickets left. Tricky game to lose but I bet we could do it. Jimmy Adams got 86 and Lumb 75
Give it to Ron Posted 8 August, 2010 Posted 8 August, 2010 Just back and a very good performance from Hampshire. Some very good fielding set the tone, we have some very good youngsters in Briggs. Woods, Vince and the brilliant wicketkeeping of Bates. Adams and Lumb batted superbly although at times I thought we were playing Pakistan not Durham by the fielding display they were shocking! Durham were handicapped by losing Harmison who pulled up chasing a big hit from Adams that sailed over the line. Enjoyable afternoon apart from the prices of the food....how can you justify £4.50 for a pie and £5 for a cheeseburger? I have to applaud the parking now as it was so easy getting in and out - well done the attendants.
corsacar saint Posted 8 August, 2010 Posted 8 August, 2010 Winning is starting to become a habit, especially in the shorter formats, long may it continue.I thought Adams in particular was brilliant today. Also great to see Lumb finally start to hit a bit of form, with the business part of the season rapidly approaching.
Weston Saint Posted 8 August, 2010 Posted 8 August, 2010 Good professional win. Never really looked in doubt. On to Somerset tomorrow with Ervine back in the side. I expect the same side that finished against Durham in the Championship game. Durham are off to Old Trafford. Thorp is definately out for them. Harmison twisted his ankle. Likely to be fit for them if he feels like it.

Since we turned to youth I think we have blossomed rather than rely on the overseas players. Mackenzie after a slow start has added valuable runs, Christian for me is just OK nothing special. It was good to see Simon Jones bowl today, I wouldn't call his run up and action smooth but he bowled at a fair pace today.

Tahir will be back as our oversea's player. Whilst that may restrict Briggs appearances Tahir is a match winner and you need those in the side if you are to win anything. McKenzie has been a big plus and at the moment it looks like he might be back next year but nothing concrete yet.
Leicestersaint Posted 10 August, 2010 Author Posted 10 August, 2010 Very good result - well done Hants.
