How do you suggest that fans voice their displeasure at the effort of players or manager? I'm not keen on booing myself but understand why people do and who am I, or you, to judge them? Deppo Posted 8 August, 2010 Share Posted 8 August, 2010 I agree. If you pay to attend you can cheer or boo if you like. Or shout racist comments. I think paying to attend should give you the right to act how you like. I shouted at Pardew, "You're a bloody woofter!", which I think is fair enough as I paid to get in the game. If we lose on Tuesday, I am well within my rights to call Lallana "a f***ing c**t" to his face, as I will have paid to attend. I think we should also be allowed to throw things at the players too and perhaps physically strike them, if we pay a little bit more to attend. niceandfriendly Posted 8 August, 2010 Share Posted 8 August, 2010 Hahahahahahahahaha now our retarded fans on this forum are trying to tell people how to support their team. HAHAHAHA What a bunch of bed-wetters. I would have boo'd if I was bothered enough to go to the game, infact I boo'd from the pub. People pay their money and can supports says any way they fookin well want. I agree with you, if people want to boo they can. It'd be very strange in my opinion to boo after yesterdays game, they players tried hard but they just weren't good enough on the day. That's bloody football, no need to cry and whinge about it every time we lose. All IMO of course, and look Stuey, no name calling in my post. It is possible! I know, I will write to Pardew & tell him that I was a little disappointed at some of his tactics & then to Mr Puncheon respectively asking why he ducked out of challenges & did not really look that interested.......I am not sure some of them could actually reply in writing, but hey-ho. Actually, maybe John Smith (Uber Fan) could reply for them. I wish I was as good a fan as you........ Still not sure how we express our disatisfaction????? Barry the Badger Posted 8 August, 2010 Share Posted 8 August, 2010 You are quite right. Which is why I have more respect for supporters of clubs like Leeds who continued to support their team for years even when things were going poorly rather than supporters who throw their dummies out of the pram after 1 game in 46. I Yep, and I'm sure the Leeds supporters you respect so much were just full of praise for their team when they lost, dishing out hugs to the players after each dissapointing defeat. You'll jump at others defence when they boo, but when I do it, you're all over me like a rash, telling me what I can or can;t do! The9 Posted 9 August, 2010 Share Posted 9 August, 2010 Where were you sat The9? I admit I was on the other side of the pitch in the first half, but I'm struggling to get my head round that description. Did he get to the byeline or actually put many crosses in? He certainly played some very nice cross field balls and kept the ball pretty well, but I don't recall him beating Molyneux. The second half was much worse and he bottled two of three tackles right in front of us on our side. He did beat Molyneux with one great turn, but he was second best several times and just didn't really do anything. I lie ther was that excellent cross field run and the shot just over te bar when coming inside. Decent moments showing he ability. More required though. This was not a display to win the Antonio/Puncheon arguement that was going on Friday night. He's a left footed player playing on the right, why on earth would he be trying to get to the byeline anyway ? He went pass Molyneux endless times inside, had a couple of close shots, DID get to the line once or twice when forced that way (and won us a couple of corners) and other times kept possession and moved the ball well across to Dickson and Harding, who got crosses in from that side from the switching of play and keeping of possession in the final third. And in the Northam.
The9 Posted 9 August, 2010 Share Posted 9 August, 2010 You forgot the wink. The9...? The wink. You know... ";)". Oh... Puncheon was Awful. Yet again. He had a good first 3-4 games, since then he has done nothing other than the odd moment or two of something alright. And as for yesterday... getting bullied by Lee Molyneux says it all. No, no he wasn't.

And in the Northam. coming inside does not constitute beating the fullback. He never beat the fullback in the first half. You are far too generous to him. I guess you see the same things as Pardew. Both need to take a second look. You are right though, he is left footed so getting to the byeline means he is going to have to cross on his wrong foot. So I wonder why Pardew play hims there. Everyone knows that crosses from the byeline cause the most problems for defenders. He's a good player - I saw that a couple of years ago when he ws at Barnet, but he can do more and needs to in games like Saturday.

broncoboy Posted 10 August, 2010 Share Posted 10 August, 2010 Booing is a wake up call to Pardew and the team that some of their customers or fans find their performance as unaccceptable. I dont believe for a minute a professional footballer is put off by a few boos at the end of a match If they lose but have done their best that is fine but when you see them clueless and and see them crumble when they give away a ridiculous goal and see over the hill KD knock the ball out the pitch six times Its time they got the message

I like both players by the way, but both have their faults and one or two of Puncheon's showed up on Saturday. As I said previously on this thread, I'm sure he will shine this year, but its is important that we have real competition for places to keep him on his toes. He is a real teachers pet and Pardew needs to push him a little bit more IMO. Edited 10 August, 2010 by Chez

If all you are is a customer then perhaps you want to shop around for a superior product? That's not to say I wouldn't boo Saints - I have done in the past when they have deserved it. But after the first game of the season when we outplayed the opposition for all but 10 minutes during which they scored with their only shot all match? For large parts of the match played better against Plymouth than we did against Bournemouth - should we have booed the team off last night? For all the hiding behind "professional footballers don't mind boos" it's obvious from Pardew's comments that it does get to them, just as cheering can raise them. So let's cheer for now and save the boos for when they really deserve it.
