Pilchards Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Two have said to me today that Antonio has signed and is in the squad for Saturday and someone else has told me he was seen down the training ground today. Perhaps we will get it confirmed tonight I hope. PINCH OF SALT JOBBIES PLEASE.......
bpsaint Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Was wondering if maybe we'd made a sneaky transfer before the deadline for tomorrow and are keeping it quiet until tonight. Would love it if it were Antonio.
S-Clarke Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 apparently the bid we made for him was rejected earlier today.
Roger Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Pilchards did rickie, morgan and jason puncheon train yesterday and did they look like they would be playing? Also, are you sure about antonio or are you mucking around?
Matthew Le God Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Pilchards did rickie, morgan and jason puncheon train yesterday and did they look like they would be playing? Schneiderlin and Puncheon definitely did. Pictures and videos of them in full training on the OS.
Saint_clark Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Two have told you, so where did you hear it the third time? Or were you meeting one of your contacts under an echoey bridge wearing a overcoat?
rocknrollman no2 Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Would be great news if true, but i doubt it.
Pilchards Posted 6 August, 2010 Author Posted 6 August, 2010 Two have told you, so where did you hear it the third time? Or were you meeting one of your contacts under an echoey bridge wearing a overcoat? Someone from here gave me a PM.
RedArmy Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 From the build-up thread "With a bit of luck there maybe a nice surprise on the bench tomorrow" Would rather him start if Punch can't play, but obviously I'd be delighted to have him at all.
Saint_clark Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Someone from here gave me a PM. Fair enough. Don't have long to wait to find out. Would absolutely love it to be true. What a boost that would be to the atmosphere if Antonio is unveiled before the game.
sfc4prem Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Not true. *Please be true, please be true!* Right, that's it. I'm staying up. Watch a bit of family guy whilst waiting.

I took that as meaning Lallana though, as he is our ITK lallana guy.
Pilchards Posted 6 August, 2010 Author Posted 6 August, 2010 I took that as meaning Lallana though, as he is our ITK lallana guy. There is no way Lallana will be playing any role this Saturday as he was in and out of the weight room and only joined in at the end of the training session as part of a youth vs defence setup.
Saint Charlie Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Antonio would be great and I think we will get him in the end but its got to be very unlikely it will happen tonight.
itchen_dan Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 I just feel that he is the missing link in our squad. I feel that if we do get him, we would be 99% complete in the transfer market. Please God Let This Be True!!
SNSUN Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 My missus, the Norwich fan, lol, likes Antonio from the times we saw him play last season, and I can genuinely state I've never seen her happier about Saints potentially signing someone.
hackedoff Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Mistaken identity for someone else? It was probably BWP in early for a quick snoop through the changing rooms.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Oh for goodness sake. I was having a quick look before I got my head down so I was nice and fresh come morning rise, and I hear this! Now I have to stay up in the vain hope... Again! Cortese out ffs.

SuperSAINT Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 I just feel that he is the missing link in our squad. I feel that if we do get him, we would be 99% complete in the transfer market. Please God Let This Be True!! Nah, we'd be 33.333% (recurring) complete -- Still need our central midfielder & striker please. Having Antonio back would be a massive boost IMO.
SNSUN Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 jesus I didn't think you rated him as highly as this!
Saint_Mabes Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 My missus, the Norwich fan, lol, likes Antonio from the times we saw him play last season, and I can genuinely state I've never seen her happier about Saints potentially signing someone. Is that because she saw him girate his hips during his goal celebrations!? Bizzarely today I had to repeat the dance to show my g/f which player I was talking about...it wasn't pretty! Also, does anyone have any nicknames for antonio. We call him 'the coat hanger' as he has strangely broad shoulders, like a coat hanger on legs!
sussexsaint Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 A work mate who is a Newcastle fan has adopted saints as his second team keeps asking me about 'that bloke who tore up the defence in the JPT' He is in his 50's and keeps on saying 'fark he was quick' I would LOVE to have him. Interesting stats on the OS. Don't think I'd fully taken in that all his appearances had been off the bench. I have to say I'd thought the 'bench player' on that thread would be Ricky
Stu Man Do Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Strangely me and a friend used to call Dyer "Doctor Yam" we imagined he would say Yammmmmmmm as he ran along with his duck like waddle. As for Antonio ... No sorry :-p
Thedelldays Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 I thought dyer was called "sex chocolate" or something........why, I have no idea
beatlesaint Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 No mention of a squad for tommorows game on Reading's web site so no clue there unfortunately.
SuperMikey Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 I'd be ecstatic if we can sign Antonio, he was excellent for us last season in some really important games. He's the type of player we're currently missing in the squad as well, somebody with the pace and power to beat his man. Reading were wanting close to £1m for him though, and i'd be surprised if they let him go for what we were offering (£500k), which is still crazy money for a young player untested above L1 whose contract expires at the end of the year.
Saint_Mabes Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 2 of the post bizzare posts I have EVER heard!!!!!! The 'sex chocolate' and 'Doctor Yam' ones that is!
saint_stevo Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 I didn't think you rated him as highly as this! Don't get me started

Thats why, if it happens, I believe it will be a transfer deadline day deal. The longer Reading wait the less they will get for him from us or anyone else for that matter. Antonio can choose to walk at the end of the season and all they would get is one of these Development fees and we have seen with Ryan Dickson how little that turns out to be. Who will hold their nerve longer - Reading or Cortese ? Think I know which one my money is on. If we have offered 500k for a player unproven above League 1 then Reading are a little bit silly for not snapping our hand off IMHO.

Saint Matty 76 Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 If this is true I will be delighted, but I can't see it happening now.
beatlesaint Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Madjeski versus Cortese. Hmmm, interesting contest.... And only one of them needs the money......the Reading fans, on their forum, call JM a skinflint !
SuperMikey Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Just in case you'd forgotten... [video=youtube;Fl-3vWgNm1c]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fl-3vWgNm1c
Amesbury Saint Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 I would have thought is was worth announcing no later than 6am tomorrow, if true. May encourage a few more ticket sales. BTW did we sell out?
sussexsaint Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Anyone else pointlessly refreshing th os or just me?
Andy_Porter Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 If he had signed ready for tomorrow it would be announced. Stop dreaming.
SuperMikey Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Anyone else pointlessly refreshing th os or just me? Yup, should imagine the OS has a lot of traffic right now.

Would be quality if we announced a signing at some silly time tomorrow morning, unlikely I admit but with the way we've been announcing signings so late at night it wouldn't surprise me.
Saint_clark Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 Just heard the contract was torn up by a raging Cortese after he found this thread.
NickG Posted 6 August, 2010 Posted 6 August, 2010 stuck to twitter - which usually gives notice of announcement in next hour or something - nothing! giving up now. can't see they could have completed it before 12 and not announced it/leaked it.
