Two have said to me today that Antonio has signed and is in the squad for Saturday and someone else has told me he was seen down the training ground today.

Perhaps we will get it confirmed tonight I hope.

Was wondering if maybe we'd made a sneaky transfer before the deadline for tomorrow and are keeping it quiet until tonight. Would love it if it were Antonio.

Pilchards did rickie, morgan and jason puncheon train yesterday and did they look like they would be playing? Also, are you sure about antonio or are you mucking around?

Schneiderlin and Puncheon definitely did. Pictures and videos of them in full training on the OS.

Don't have long to wait to find out. Would absolutely love it to be true. What a boost that would be to the atmosphere if Antonio is unveiled before the game.

I took that as meaning Lallana though, as he is our ITK lallana guy.

There is no way Lallana will be playing any role this Saturday as he was in and out of the weight room and only joined in at the end of the training session as part of a youth vs defence setup.

My missus, the Norwich fan, lol, likes Antonio from the times we saw him play last season, and I can genuinely state I've never seen her happier about Saints potentially signing someone.

I just feel that he is the missing link in our squad. I feel that if we do get him, we would be 99% complete in the transfer market. Please God Let This Be True!!

 

Nah, we'd be 33.333% (recurring) complete -- Still need our central midfielder & striker please.

 

Having Antonio back would be a massive boost IMO.

Is that because she saw him girate his hips during his goal celebrations!? Bizzarely today I had to repeat the dance to show my g/f which player I was talking about...it wasn't pretty!

 

Also, does anyone have any nicknames for antonio. We call him 'the coat hanger' as he has strangely broad shoulders, like a coat hanger on legs!

A work mate who is a Newcastle fan has adopted saints as his second team keeps asking me about 'that bloke who tore up the defence in the JPT'

 

He is in his 50's and keeps on saying 'fark he was quick'

 

I would LOVE to have him. Interesting stats on the OS. Don't think I'd fully taken in that all his appearances had been off the bench.

 

I have to say I'd thought the 'bench player' on that thread would be Ricky

Strangely me and a friend used to call Dyer "Doctor Yam" we imagined he would say Yammmmmmmm as he ran along with his duck like waddle. As for Antonio ... No sorry :-p

I'd be ecstatic if we can sign Antonio, he was excellent for us last season in some really important games. He's the type of player we're currently missing in the squad as well, somebody with the pace and power to beat his man.

Reading were wanting close to £1m for him though, and i'd be surprised if they let him go for what we were offering (£500k), which is still crazy money for a young player untested above L1 whose contract expires at the end of the year.

The longer Reading wait the less they will get for him from us or anyone else for that matter.

Antonio can choose to walk at the end of the season and all they would get is one of these Development fees and we have seen with Ryan Dickson how little that turns out to be.

Who will hold their nerve longer - Reading or Cortese ?

Think I know which one my money is on.

If we have offered 500k for a player unproven above League 1 then Reading are a little bit silly for not snapping our hand off IMHO.

I would have thought is was worth announcing no later than 6am tomorrow, if true.

May encourage a few more ticket sales.

 

BTW did we sell out?

 

Would be quality if we announced a signing at some silly time tomorrow morning,unlikely I admit but with the way we've been announcing signings so late at night it wouldn't surprise me.

stuck to twitter - which usually gives notice of announcement in next hour or something - nothing!

 

giving up now.

 

can't see they could have completed it before 12 and not announced it/leaked it.
