Agreed, I think he could really be our Number 1 on our march through the leagues.

Thinking back: he joined at 18 years old. And played a fair number of games in his first season - at a higher level than we are now.

I've always said it, I like Bart, and I think he's a bloody good keeper. If Kelvin gets injured I never have any fears at all when Bart takes over.

Brilliant news. Best signing of the summer IMO. Seriously, Bart is top notch cover especially at this level. I wouldn't have any issues with him being a first choice 'keeper in the Championship, let alone a reserve in League 1. There isn't a League 1 club with as much quality in goal as Kelvin/Bart by a mile.

i'd imagine he's got some sort of clause in his contract making him first choice for cup games or similar - i couldn't see him signing for us without knowing if he'll ever play, i'm sure he's had some assurances that he'll get guaranteed game time.

Really pleased with this news. Bart has shown a lot of promise and in committing to us shows that

I wonder how bad his injury is that made him fail a medical. Not bad enough to stop us giving him a new deal obviously, but that appears to have worked in our favour. Very good news. I welcome Bart signing a new contract - but I can't go this far .

 

Bart has the innate ability to be a first class goalkeeper for sure , and yes he may well become our number one in the fullness of time . But for now at least Kelvin Davis is at least as capable (I'd argue he's a tad better) and in my opinion he has a stronger sense of self confidence and is almost certainly the more reliable keeper of the pair .

 

And that is why Kelvin is (and is likely to remain) our first choice keeper .

Having a player of Bart's confidence and ability chomping at the bit is imho potentially the season saver. THE most important position on the pitch.
