I'd debate with anyone on the forum.

 

Unfortunately i just don't like you very much, so i don't bother

 

Just ignore my posts then.

 

You'll be pleased to know that like others have said I too won't renew when my membership runs out so you, and all the other people who cannot abide differing opinions, will slowly but surely end up with the forum you all want.

I never have an issue with differing opinions, its what makes this place interesting.

Claiming someone who doesn't agree with you must have "an agenda" doesn't appear to back that theory up, to be fair.

Ok, saying you have an agenda is probably a bit strong and i apologise.

 

But we all know that the whole pro/anti cortese thing is getting people all a bit antagonised atm, for me a lot just seems more to beat the chairman with, he ain't perfect but IMO he doesn't deserve quite as much flak.

 

God i can't wait until Plymouth rolls around.

So because people like you can't deal with an alternative view on things such as the installment plan, paying a premium to purchase tickets on the day, paying a premium to order tickets online/over the phone, banning the Echo, Nick having his money returned, attacks on legends like Matt Le Tissier etc ect it's not acceptable for such issues to be discussed?

 

You probably see any view contrary to your own as a negative view much in the same way that anti Lowe posters were seen as negative at one time by the majority. I happen to think the "negative" views about Rupert Lowe were positive views, and in the same way I think that questioning the said actions of NC are positive views. It is not anti SFC to say "hang on a minute we've had extra charges levied on ticket prices over and above the cost compared to counter sales and this doesn't bode well for the future". This is a positive view IMO because I don't have money to throw around and I would sooner complain now than wait for prices to become sky high.

DSM is the only person since ive been on here to directly and needlessly insult me. I pointed out as much at the time but avoided a fullblown slanging match for the sole reason that he is listed as a moderator.

It isn't about flak. I can only speak for myself but I tend to comment on particular issues. I have also recognised what Cortese has done well. I imagine that Steve feels a similar way.

True, like i said before, you and steve can actually build a proper arguement TBF and see both sides.

 

I can see the good and bad points, but where as you and steve are on the slightly against NC side of the fence i am on the other thats all.

 

Unfortunately some on here continually troll with the anti NC rants every 5 minutes no matter what it is thats happened and ignore the good points.

Had I been an adult around the 1920s and 1930s I would not have 'respected' the opinions of the Nazis and their ilk. .

 

The Problem is that up until 1938 you would have respected the Nazi's and so would most of us. And I'll tell you why. We had no real views as to the way they were treating Jews in Germany and Austria. In the newsreels, especially around 1936 olympics, that Mr Hitler was shown as a 'very Good Leader' for Germany, and a great ambassador for sport around the world,(It'll be on YouTube somewhere, the Pathe news reel with Jesse Owens winning the gold) and only outspoken politicians,(like Winston Churchill) and certain members of the media, (Lord Beaverbrook) had any problem with him. And all this was down to Propaganda, the information people back then based their opinions on was the sanitised oft un-true version spread by Nazis, and becasue it was printed, it became fact. Charlie Chaplin, in the great Dictator, actually failed in his mission to show Hitler upto the world as a crazy dictator by making Hitler a target of Fun, (he has only one ball, you know).

I don't want to give you all a History lesson but here is an often used example of positive spin, with information control at the heart of it. It's the same here. We used to have all the goings on at the club being spouted out and loads of ITKers revealing the information. Now, that information is being tightly controlled, so that there are not ITKers in the sense of the word any more. Oh, I don't doubt that people still have contacts at the club, and that they still get tit bits, but unlike before when the tit bits were close to the truth, now even those at the heart of the club can only speculate. If NC is the type of professional i believe, he closely controls what information goes out, and he knows who can be trusted, and who cant. And what do you do in business to those you don't trust?(Treat em like sh** and be really mean and sack-em i hear you cry). No, NC will do what most managers would do. Those close to you you isolate, keep in the dark, control what you tell them and starve them of attention and they either change, or they go. Those below or outside your direct control, why worry about them as they will either like the new regieme, or will leave. No need to threaten, bully or put fear into, and it means you don't break no employment laws. So, with this control of information and no one knowing anything worthwile, unlike yesteryear, this causes frustrations for ALL of us, so some form opinions on the scantist of evidence, some form opionion based on personal feeling, '...If I was Nicola, that is what I would do. '.some try and mind read and assume that NC does things with no evidence at all, then make up statements that they believe will pass as evidence: An example: (Taken From Family Guy)

Lois Griffen - kids, your father has a lump and i'm worried about him.

Meg Griffen - Oh, Mum. Debbie Janson's father had a lump and he was perfectly fine

Lois Griffen - Whose Debbie Janson?

Too much is based on nothing at all and taken as fact.

Was the Echo Banned? No, because Nicola/The Club says so on the official web site. just because they say so, doesn't mean it's true.

So, lets stop calling each others names and try and keep an open mind. Surly we can debate as adults and wise men, with out resulting to name calling and personal attacks. We all have several things in common, believe it or not, SFC being one of them.

Information is a two edge sword, it cuts both ways.

Ah, ****** to them. I prefer Professor Richard Holmes. A proper military historian, better than Sharma and Starkey and, as a previous commander of the 2nd Battalion, The Wessex Regiment and Honorary Colonel of the Southampton University Officer Training Corps is probably a closet Saints fan. Don't know, only ever seen him from a distance, on TV and a big painting of him at Sandhurst, but why wouldn't he be.

i don't know. Thought he did a cracking bit on why the American Revolution was really a British Civil War, contrary to American history and the fact they are very revisionist on the French part in it. Wasn't he offered a chair at Cambridge, but turned it down for Sandhurst as his heart is in military rather than classical history? It is a good point about why stay at Cranfield. Very strange. Maybe he is in actual fact an MK Dons fan? Nah, can't see it.

 

Want to make up some rumours about it, miltonaggro?

 

Still think he's a saints fan, though.

A few guys I know were taken to court by our ex-chairman over comments made on our forum. It made the national press but thankfully nothing cme of it. Be careful what you write it can come back to haunt you.

This is supposed to be an independant forum and you and Ponty ( note I don't say the OWNERS Boj and Steve ) are turning it into another SFC propaganda machine by yourself locking threads with 'rumour' or 'speculation' and Ponty by being sarcastic and basically not practicing what he preaches when it comes to main board behaviour.

 

I also note that Boj and Steve (bizzarely) act like the sun shines out your backside. So no suprise there.

And this is why so many people are not renewing. The forum has changed into basically a bunch of friends who have one rule for themselves and one rule for everyone else. Just a matter of time until another group set up a proper forum and the readership here further diminishes. And the sad thing is at that point they will only have themselves to blame. It is like they want people to leave or something.

yep...allow DBP to have two usernames....then do him a favour by changing his status to registered user..

 

I have reported countless posts by him and dune....yet they still post

 

maybe steve wants them to be some sort of mouth piece against NC..?

I don't see the point in renewing, when you just end up paying to read pathetic insults and off topic crap. This used to be a football forum. If the moderators stood firm and stamped it all out, the main culprits would get bored and go elsewhere. Never going to happen though, so let's just hope another Saints forum dedicated to football and with no agenda arrives, so we can get back to talking football.

Indeed. Anyone notice the :lol: that stevegrant gave to a sarcastic post (I think by CB Fry, although don't quote me on that) the other day. Something that is infractionable in others, it seems.
