SW11_Saint Posted 3 August, 2010 Author Posted 3 August, 2010 Sounds like he had a Matty type diet before Pardew's regime...
itchen_dan Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 So it sounds like he is ready and raring to go for Saturday! COYS!
saintscottofthenortham Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 they might let him get a word in soon. That W*nker Clar*dge - "The lowers levels... Your boxes are not all ticked are they." - PR1CK.
Ponty Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Sounds like he had a Matty type diet before Pardew's regime... So, what you're saying is, Cortese steals his dinner money? The bastard.
SW11_Saint Posted 3 August, 2010 Author Posted 3 August, 2010 Mark Clemets and Steve Claridge very complimentary. Claridge questioned where he'd been - ie why did it take so long for his career to kick-off. Says he lost his way at Stockport, then Rovers turned him around. Says he loves the club and has found his spiritual home. Says we're more ambitious than most Championship clubs. Can't wait to start the season. Not bothered by the 'favourites' tag.

Have to say I quite like Claridge, despite his blue roots. At least he'll say what he thinks and doesn't mind stepping on a few toes.
SW11_Saint Posted 3 August, 2010 Author Posted 3 August, 2010 Is he fit for Saturday?Didn't give anything away. At least he didn't say he wasn't playing!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Cortese steals his dinner money? The bastard. This needs a new thread

Was very nice to hear. A proper down to earth bloke who seems as happy as can be...
krissyboy31 Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Says he loves the club and has found his spiritual home. Off soon then!!!
saintscottofthenortham Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Have to say I quite like Claridge, despite his blue roots. At least he'll say what he thinks and doesn't mind stepping on a few toes. pfft. each to there own.
SW11_Saint Posted 3 August, 2010 Author Posted 3 August, 2010 Predictions: Michael Gray - Sheffield Weds, Saints Clem - Saints, Huddersfield, Brighton Claridge - Saints, Huddersfield, Brighton or Peterborough
SuperMikey Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 I think i'm in love with Rickie. Hope he's scoring goals with us for a while yet!
St Landrew Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 As usual. 5 minutes too late. I'll listen to the iplayer catch-up a little later.
Pilchards Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Haha I like the bit when Claridge said to Rickie 'You visited Portsmouth last week, what was the best thing Rickie?' Lambert 'The out of city sign!' Okay I made it up but so does 50% of the people in this forum.
SW11_Saint Posted 3 August, 2010 Author Posted 3 August, 2010 As usual. 5 minutes too late. I'll listen to the iplayer catch-up a little later. Good program actually, whole night on the Football League - though most of it on The Championship. Interviewed Steve Cotterill too.

Saint Garrett Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 (edited) Anyone know where you can find the programme on the iplayer ?! Don't worry, found it, not made it onto there yet. Edited 3 August, 2010 by Saint Garrett
Chin Strain Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Didn't give anything away. At least he didn't say he wasn't playing! He told me that he wasn't sure, and 'the manager may put him on the bench'. Groin strain and he's not happy about it! Came across as a decent bloke - quietly spoken and unassuming.
scott_saints Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 What has this got to do with Corteses being a control freak ffs?!!
Gigersaint Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Have to say I quite like Claridge, despite his blue roots. At least he'll say what he thinks and doesn't mind stepping on a few toes. +1, agree with that, not any others with a connection to the Blue Few I could say that about.
Chin Strain Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 What has this got to do with Corteses being a control freak ffs?!! Maybe Rickie didn't have Herr Fuhrers express permission and will be routinely fired in the morning.
Saint_clark Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 It's made it onto the bbc website. Just the interview with him? Or the whole program? If the latter, what minute does Lambert come on?
Saint Garrett Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Just the interview with him? Or the whole program? If the latter, what minute does Lambert come on? Ha, im not sure, I skipped through it, and then reached a bit about pompey so listened to it. quite funny tbh! Think it's about 2hrs 10 mins?
St Landrew Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Just listened to it on the BBC iplayer. It was about 5 minutes long and he didn't say much. But he did say he'd found the right club for himself in Southampton, with more ambition than most Championship clubs. He really is thankful to his former Bristol City manager and esspecially to AP for sorting him out finally, because he'd lost his way at one of his previous clubs, Stockport County. He's confident we can do the business this season, and then next, who knows..? I'll tell you Rickie... The City of Southampton expects..!

Don't mention that to fans of his former club, whatever you do...
bowers-sfc Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Sounds like he had a Matty type diet before Pardew's regime... he has been through mcdonalds 3 or 4 times before, the last being just before new year....
mitch01 Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Actual Steve Coterill quote: 'We've just managed to get Sonko in which took a hell of a long time. But its been worth every penny of it.....and by penny I mean penny in time.' What a lucky club.
Dalek2003 Posted 4 August, 2010 Posted 4 August, 2010 Lambert on the bench seems the most likely scenario. I am sure if we have a comfortable lead then AP will refrain from using him.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 4 August, 2010 Posted 4 August, 2010 Lambert on the bench seems the most likely scenario. I am sure if we have a comfortable lead then AP will refrain from using him. Lambert will either start or wont be involved at all imo. You don't have Rickie Lambert on the bench. If he is fit he plays if not then he wont be involved.

Turkish Posted 4 August, 2010 Posted 4 August, 2010 What has this got to do with Corteses being a control freak ffs?!! because he is obviosuly picking the team now FFS.
Alejam Posted 4 August, 2010 Posted 4 August, 2010 http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00t9rnd/5_live_Football_League_03_08_2010/ Drag the bar to 2:15 to listen
St Landrew Posted 4 August, 2010 Posted 4 August, 2010 Don't mention that to fans of his former club, whatever you do... Oh yeah..! Good spot. Rovers, of course.
Saint Garrett Posted 4 August, 2010 Posted 4 August, 2010 I sat and listened to the whole 3 hours earlier, it was a very interesting programme i thought. Good to hear Rickie, and interesting to hear what they thought of League 1 and also the Championship. Plus hearing about P*mpeys mess of a club
