david in sweden Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 (edited) Which division has clubs with the largest amount of different letters... starting the club names? example; Arsenal and Aston Villa.. are both A = ONE letter West Ham, Wolves Wigan... are all W = but only ONE letter ..........so which divison has the most different letters and ..if you're gonna guess..also try to say how many different letters... you think are used. No cheating! ..use your brain and not a website. If you're still sane by Wednesday, I'll publish the result...if those guys in the white coats let me back to the keyboard... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I noticed that along the way this thread was hijacked by some others who were too busy..or couldn't be bothered to start their own thread... but anyway ....the correct answer to the above is : League 1 has 24 teams who between them use 15 different letters at the start.. B C D E H L M N O P R S T W and Y as for the rest; CCC uses 13 letters and L2 has 14. The Prem. of course with 20 sides uses only 11 diff.letters. With only 3 days left...there isn't much more nonsense that you can think up.... Edited 4 August, 2010 by david in sweden
Saint Garrett Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 Surely won't be the Premiership because firstly there is less teams, plus theres 3 w's and 4/5 ? B's. I'm gunna go with League one with about......14/15 ???
Marsdinho Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 The Conference ? Edit, sorry, meant the Blue Square Prem.
Saint Garrett Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 I was assuming that this was out of Prem => League 2
david in sweden Posted 2 August, 2010 Author Posted 2 August, 2010 Sorry, is this intended to relieve boredom? YES ! ..and sorry Danbert, you're obviously not bored enough ......
david in sweden Posted 2 August, 2010 Author Posted 2 August, 2010 The Conference ? Edit, sorry, meant the Blue Square Prem. only the top 4 divs.
SNSUN Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 Generally these threads result in someone getting really bored, giving up on the original question and posting another, which results in most people forgetting the original question. I'm on the edge of my seat.
Arizona Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 Give the name of a player which links Saints to each league club. Not sure if that will relieve boredom, but there you go.
SNSUN Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 Give the name of a player which links Saints to each league club. Not sure if that will relieve boredom, but there you go. I rest my case.
Saint Garrett Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 What was the answer to the original question ? Was i close?
ericofarabia Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Give the name of a player which links Saints to each league club. Not sure if that will relieve boredom, but there you go. Fitz Hall ? Between them Frank Worthington and John Burridge have probably played for all of them !!
Charlie2008 Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 No time...gotta get to work... Might give it some thought over the day (probably not!)!
SNSUN Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Give the name of a player which links Saints to each league club. Not sure if that will relieve boredom, but there you go. Matt Le Tissier - every club would've loved to have him. :-) Silvia Saint - Czech porn actress and a bit of a player - same reason as MLT. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silvia_Saint Burridge got around a bit, but I think EVERY league club would be stretching it...
david in sweden Posted 3 August, 2010 Author Posted 3 August, 2010 What was the answer to the original question ? Was i close? the ORIGINAL Question is the start of this thread .The answer will come on Wednesday. Yes - some people are posting other questions that make it more difficult to keep track of the original.

SaintDonkey Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 (edited) Burridge got around a bit, but I think EVERY league club would be stretching it... According to wikipedia he got round (deep breath) Aston Villa Blackpool Crystal Palace Darlington Derby County Lincoln City Manchester City Newcastle United Northampton Town Notts County QPR Sheffield United Southend United Wolves So that's 14 of the 92 accounted for (and that's just his current League sides) plus of course Saints. Fitz Hall adds just Barnet, Oldham Athletic and Wigan to that list. Any more suggestions of well travelled ex-saints? My own name off the top of my head Frank Worthington adds Bolton Wanderers Birmingham City Brighton and Hove Albion Hudderfield Town Leeds Unted Leicester City Preston North End Stockport County Sunderland Tranmere Rovers So in 3 players we have 27 of the 92. What next? Edited 3 August, 2010 by SaintDonkey Crystal Palace twice
SaintDonkey Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 (edited) And Ted MacDougall - a suggestion from a bloke at work - adds Bournemouth Liverpool Manchester United Norwich City West Ham United (plus a few duplicates of course) 4 players - 32 clubs... Any more journeymen out there? Edited 3 August, 2010 by SaintDonkey Crystal Palace twice
Saint Garrett Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Kevin Phillips ? Watford Sunderland Southampton Aston Villa West Bromwich Albion Birmingham City
ChrisPY Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Nigel Quasie Nottm Forest Pompey West Brom MK Dons 38 Clubs from 6 players Rory Delap Carlisle Stoke
SaintDonkey Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 I wonder if we can do the 92 in 11 Saints players? Peter Shilton in goal of course Leicester City Stoke City Nottingham Forest Derby County Plymouth Argyle Wimbledon Bolton Wanderers Coventry City West Ham United Leyton Orient Give us another 4 clubs (although I don't think he started a match for Wimbledon or Coventry)
Saint Garrett Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 Chris Perry Wimbledon Tottenham Hotspur Charlton Athletic West Bromwich Albion Luton Town
david in sweden Posted 4 August, 2010 Author Posted 4 August, 2010 One league has about 6 B's , so not that one. good effort Hatch. see correct answer on amended thread at the start.
Saint Garrett Posted 4 August, 2010 Posted 4 August, 2010 Surely won't be the Premiership because firstly there is less teams, plus theres 3 w's and 4/5 ? B's. I'm gunna go with League one with about......14/15 ??? Woo!! Not a bad guess !
