Ted Bates Left Foot.

At the end of last season I arranged to meet someone by Ted's statue before a match. It was interesting to note how many people walked by and gave his left foot a rub/tap. (The left foot is the one that is forward and easiest to reach). Whether they do this for luck, out of respect or thanks to the great man, or just out of habit I dont know. But it was all ages and sexes. I know I do it every time I pass the statue.

i have also got in the habit of doing this as has my mate.before every match we have to go & say hello to Ted,doesn't feel right if we don't. i even saw someone kiss it before a game last season

I did it once and we lost 2-0 to Forest, so I haven't done it since.

We (kids & myself) always give Ted a wave when passing in the car.
