Cambridge 540C CD player

Just picked up one these second hand to replace an old Cambridge C300. The old unit run through a DAC. Do i need to do the same again or is the new player that good that the DAC will not be needed.

Well, apparently the Mark II version has an excellent Wolfson DAC, so I'd expect the Mark I to have a previous version of that.

Coincidentally I bought the 640c yesterday from Richer Sounds - £150. Sounds great to me, no external DAC.
