Deppo Posted 30 August, 2010 Posted 30 August, 2010 I've got a rumour... Deppo is gay. He just PM'd me and invited me to a secret spanking club.. It's not a rumour. I'd like to bum you.
buctootim Posted 30 August, 2010 Posted 30 August, 2010 5 minutes later... I think Cortese has had his mindwipers at buctootim! lol. I realised that after I typed it. What I actually meant to say was I remember saddo making a lame and pathetic joke, but cant recall exactly what it was.
hypochondriac Posted 30 August, 2010 Posted 30 August, 2010 lol. I realised that after I typed it. Or are you just going to ignore it and continue with the personal stuff.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 30 August, 2010 Posted 30 August, 2010 I think some of us need to get real. It was the biggest non secret last close seaon that AP had reached the end of the road as far as NC was concerned. NC hesitated because "legends" like MLT, L Mac weighed in to support AP and even NC baulked. Everyone vaguely connected with the club knew it was only a matter of time - hence it filtering down to no bodies like me. Why some on this forum can't see the wood for the trees is beyond me but I see St Marco is still "struggling" this evening. Coincidence? I don't think so. You probably don't give a monkeys, but I owe you an apology. I suggested that your OP was wrong among other things - clearly I was incorrect in my assertion. My first reaction to this news was that NC had made a terrible mistake and while I do hope for managerial stability at Saints, it is less clear to me that NC is necessarily the ultimate villian. If he appoints Zola for example, this will go some way to explaining the decision from a more human perspective. If he appoints MO'N then that will explain the decision more from a hard-nosed and financial perspective. Appointing some of the no-marks suggested in the media would still leave me thinking that a significant mistake has been made by NC.
hypochondriac Posted 30 August, 2010 Posted 30 August, 2010 Fair play to you Cam. You have my respect (not that you will care that much! )
dockland Dave Posted 30 August, 2010 Posted 30 August, 2010 Ginge maybe a good poster I try not to remember who is good and who is bad, but Nick let me tell you AP knew he was going in the summer, all his staff knew it. He held on to get his severance cheque. This last month has been a joke, NC should have done what he wanted at the season's end instead of let it carry over. His removal was nothing to do with the last 48 hours. It was inevitable. I was told that the evening of the Reading match. Mate, I owe you an apology. You obviously do still have the ear of some of those in power. Please keep posting what you can on here. You are one of a few wiser heads on here who manage to create a balanced perspective, and i am sorry for having a pop. David
Deppo Posted 30 August, 2010 Posted 30 August, 2010 FF, I owe you an apology. I hope that one day we can be more than friends and maybe you could write a book about me?

No I do care a monkies, thanks for being big enough to say sorry SaintsFanCaM. Genuinely appreciate it. I had 2 good sources for this story, both independant and both being in a position to know so that is why I stuck my neck out. I just wish NC had done it in the summer (not that I agree with it). Perhaps Matt and Cos intervention on AP's behalf was counter productive. As someone memorably said on here one - "as a saints fans you are only ever about 3 feet away from a kick in the nuts". Cheers Duncan

David Thanks David - tbh a lot of what I get is only rumour from good sources and I'm not always sure it is true. Trouble is with a football club there is always rumours a plenty it's just trying to sort the wheat from the chaff. The only rumour re the next manager am hearing is Shearer but personally I don't believe it and don't think it would be a wise move.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 31 August, 2010 Author Posted 31 August, 2010 FF, I owe you an apology. I hope that one day we can be more than friends and maybe you could write a book about me? Only if Ottery could write the introduction and the ending
dune Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 FF I appreciate that you were right through being ITK, and I was right from seeing the writing on the wall, but I do think it's now time to draw a line in the sand when it comes to internal club politics for the time being. Cortese has annoyed me greatlty with the £3 booking tax and there is no way i'm going to let that drop for some time yet though.
alpine_saint Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 What a prize **** you are. I suppose taking the **** out of fans who coined the 'Win It For Markus' slogan two days after his death with your oh so amusing 'Win it for Rickie Martin' avatar is "respecting the views of others". Youre not even a good troll, you just bandwagon jump. One sad individual. And I havent forgotten the Afghan girl joke either. Do you mean the one from the cover of Time Magazine?. He didnt, did he ? What a COMPLETE w**ker.
Greenridge Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 Apologies to any other posters I may have upset during my frustrated mid life crisis... Come on boyzz and girlzz we are all on the same side..Lets all be friends again and have a love in for our promotion year.. WIFM I've hardly posted in months so I'm not sure if I should be offended or not lol! Blimey it's all going on with our little club isn't it!
suewhistle Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 It reflects badly on AP if he stayed only for his cheque though. i wpould have gone to see NC and struck a deal. Maybe he did and NC didn't want to play at the time?
arfurdent Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 I've hardly posted in months so I'm not sure if I should be offended or not lol! Blimey it's all going on with our little club isn't it! Are handbags at ten paces mandatory on the site now
Deppo Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 Blimey it's all going on with our little club isn't it! Don't let Tijuana Tim hear you say that.
Huntingdon Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 I'm pleased FF has hit the back of the net with his info Some posters appear to have a vendetta with FF, just because they disagreed with his involvement with the BA strike He's a Saints fan, that's all I care about Keep up the good work DH
arfurdent Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 FF, I owe you an apology. I hope that one day we can be more than friends and maybe you could write a book about me? Mary Shelley has already published it
stanthemanfairoak Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 looks like fitzhugh fella and lets b avenue were right all along!
up and away Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 Pardew knew he was going to be sacked. He knew it was just a matter of time. I know that because I have spoken to someone very close to Pardew AND other people on here have had similar conversations and received similar info from different sources. Even when you do know something, what you actually glean from it comes to very little, about the square root of that famous stately home. Last season Pardew ignored Cortese’s instructions on prioritising the league, something that came very close to getting him the sack. Prior to the end of the season Cortese reviewed the situation and looked at the alternatives. After all of that he felt it better to continue with Pardew, believing he was the best candidate of what was available to take us forward, forgetting the bad and highlighting the good. Now Pardew may not have been too happy after getting feedback from outside about this, but that was his own fault for making that dumb comment in the programme notes about how he prioritised the cups. After all of this and even Liebherr believing Pardew should go, Cortese stuck with him. He was assured he would be starting the season and the job was his as long as he performed, along with a full transfer budget and control of the first team, which was indeed the case. Anyone who claims they know that Pardew would be sacked before Christmas is either dumber beyond belief or party to Pardews intention to actually create such a position. You want us to believe that Cortese deliberately set this up to sack Pardew, knowing full well the damage it would do to the clubs chances of promotion? Something the club fully understands and underlines in the decision to sack Pardew? You can’t even disguise this as some master plan by Cortese, because it makes absolutely no sense from that angle. I stated at the time Pardew may well go before Christmas, but it would have nothing to do with this load of ******. Cortese would not have given Pardew all pre-season, a full budget, only to sack him just before the transfer window closes. This is the last thing Cortese wanted and something he would have been desperately trying to avoid. The intention would have been for the manager who was here at the start of the season to see us through to the end. This could not have come at a worse time and precipitated by some recent event which has brought this about, not some long term idiotic strategy designed to do maximum harm to our promotion chances. The transfer policy of waiting for the right players is something Pardew argued strongly for in the press against the unrest of many fans. The success of transfer panel seems to be working well, even though some are trying to invent the position of Cortese trying to fob players onto Pardew. Just because Cortese speaks Italian, we get the muppets claiming Waigo was a Cortese selection, even though Pardew knew of him before he even became the Saints manager.
BUCKINGHAMSAINT Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 I personally hope FF keeps posting! What people fail to realise is matters such as signings/new managers are ALWAYS changing. You line up 2 or 3 for the one position and sign the best one, unless something better comes along and you blow them 2 or 3 out of the water and sign someone better. Ward/Fonte springs to mind! But at the same time, players are getting offers and keeping 2 or 3 open unless a better option becomes available then the same things happen - but it's the club getting blown out! I look forward to reading future FF postings :-)
MatthewStiles Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 I personally hope FF keeps posting! I agree, definitely one of the best posters on this forum.
Alain Perrin Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 I agree with what up and away posted. What I don't get is why not wait another day until the transfer window closes? That way any signings in the pipeline would go through giving the squad a full complement. As it stands if I was close to signing on the dotted line, I wouldn't if I didn't know who the manager was going to be. Obviously the new man may not agree / want different players, but isn't having someone elses signings better than having none at all?
Deppo Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 Only if Ottery could write the introduction and the ending I'd rather it was just you. I don't go in for any of that fancy writing.
Lets B Avenue Posted 31 August, 2010 Posted 31 August, 2010 I'd rather it was just you. I don't go in for any of that fancy writing. Nutshell.
