End of day two and we have our nose in front with 4 wickets left. It's a shame that no one has made a century for us but if things go well tomorrow we must have a good chance of another win.

Have been up until tea both days,as you say Leicestersaint it is a shame no Hants player has gone on and scored a hundred like Chandrepaul.

For a game we have [sort of] had under control, we are probably not in the position we should be.

We need to try and get a big enough lead,so that we do not have to chase too many in the last innings[weather permitting]. The fact they have two left arm

spinners in their side, will make any reasonable target[200 plus] very difficult to chase batting last.

Kent being in a good position, could actually see us in the bottom 2 by sunday evening, albeit with games in hand.

51 runs ahead with two wickets left - maybe we can get another batting point and a lead of around 80 or so.

366 for 9 with 46 extras

Cork still there with 51

Lancs are now 83 for 1 - just 3 runs behind with 9 wickets standing. I don't like the way this is developing as i can see us struggling to get a target of 250 in the fourth innings.

Lancashire will probably regret taking so long to reach our lead of 86 runs. A win for them, could see them very handily placed, but they are such a negative side, they will probably declare too late to give themselves a chance to bowl us out[hopefully],or bat on too long.

As for Chilton,[stonewall] this is the guy who when he was Lancs captain a few years back, batted on all the last day at -The Rosebowl.[When they had a lead of 330 plus at lunch on the last day],because he was frightened to declare unless Hants won the game. Baring in mind, with Corkie bowling really well, they had bowled Hants out for under 200 in the first innings.

Just got back after spending an hour or so up there - unsurprisingly, Lancashire barely played any attacking shots in the time I was there, the one exception being when Smith tried to sweep Briggs but top-edged to Adams for 128.

Lancashire have to be the most negative side in the country.I am totally delighted that I decided not to go today.

Roll on Durham,a decent crowd, who play the game in the right spirit.[i know the 4 day game at Basingstoke is almost certainly going to produce a positive

result either way, unless too much time is lost to the weather].

I have been there for all 4 days. Lancashire were frightened of losing from the start.

One regular Lancashire supporter yesterday said I was lucky as I only had to endure a Lancashire game onnce a season. They had to suffer them all season.

Spoke to one of Lancashires prominent committee members this afternoon. She said Lancs were frightened of losing from day 1. They were very negative.

Poor advert for the 4 day game when they were batting. However much of it was down to some accurate bowling from Hants even if, on a flatish wicket on the last day they lacked to penetration required.
