maddog Posted 6 August, 2010 Share Posted 6 August, 2010 We spent about 15k on ours and we didnt go crazy. When you go to these wedding fairs etc you can really see how people spend 20k plus. Just remember its about who is there and having the day you want, not how much you spend
buctootim Posted 6 August, 2010 Share Posted 6 August, 2010 Been to a lot of boring weddings at country house hotels where for some reason the bride and groom think its a good idea to have everyone dressed up in funny hats and tails. Huge cost for so so food and wine. One of the best was a ceremony at Brighton Pavilion, followed by a reception above a pub in two function rooms - a quiet chatting room and a music / dance room. A buffet from the local Indian and the groom playing with his friends in a really really good R&B band. The asked for no wedding gifts, but for everyone to chip in to the cost of the event. With about 70 people there they made over a £1,000 profit on the night - which largely paid for the honeymoon. Oh and everyone had a cracking time. This is the way our preparations are going. Started out around 10K and will now be 15 including the honeymoon if there are no unexpected extras. dubai_phil Posted 6 August, 2010 Share Posted 6 August, 2010 It isn't the cost of the wedding that is the problem. It's the cost of the fecking divorce.
