How does this work then?

Bee trying for ages to get through on the helpline number, stay in a queue for 20+mins, then the phone gets cut off. So do a bit of trawling on 'tinterweb and find a freephone number. Give it a ring and lo and behold its answered almost immediately. First question the operator asks is where am I calling from. SOuthampton, I reply. I'm sorry she says, this line is a priority line for those calling from outside the UK, I cannot take your call, use the 0845 number!

So how the hell do people living outside the UK qualify for something they don't pay into? And how come thay get better treatment than me, a UK taxpayer?:x:x:x

Pretty sure that a freephone number won't be freephone for calls originating outside of the UK. They don't want you ringing in on it as it will cost them money rather than making some income on the 0845 number I guess tey have asked you to use.

you cant dial an 0845 number from abroad, so all companies that use them generally have a normal landline number you can dial. As calls from abroad are expensive they are usually prioritised and you don't usually get a press 1 for this mumbo jumbo. It's worth finding these numbers and then saying you are abroad (but a good idea to withold your number otherwise they might know you are telling porkies).

I guess with the shake ups thats on the way, this system will still be in place, lets hope not. Like all these sham weddings that have been going on, will they have to repay any hand outs that they have received ?

Hello, I cant start any threads, but I need to ask a question . . .

I just walked out of a team building type session because it was utter bull****, and embarrasing. . . Am I going to get sacked? :/
