Dave Benson Phillips Posted 31 July, 2010 Posted 31 July, 2010 Do people on here really believe that we drink more than others fans on away trips. It is true. Let me give you a factual example. Wembley. Silverspoons - Never had the demand for so much beer since new Wembley opened. Green Man - Record takings for a domestic Cup Final.

Thats doesn't prove that we drink more than anyone else, it just proves that for our final more was drunk at those two establishments (out of hundreds in London), where as at other finals other pubs may have been busier and maybe more was drunk at these pubs. An answer to your stats could be that as it was our first time at Wembley for 34 years people would be unsure of straying too far from the ground hence big takings at two pubs near the ground. Other finals with your Chelsea's and your Man U's and fans may avoid drinking so close to the ground and get into other routines, this may be true or not neither you or I really know. Do you have any more evidence. I would guess that the difference between to 5th and 95th percentile per head is very marginal and we are probably in there somewhere.
saint.tom.clancy Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 Well if not the alcohol, then what? I see a bit of trouble every now and again, hardly ever near the ground though. So surely that must have something to do with it?

The Wembley veterans go drinking in and around Baker St. i.e the Globe, then jump on the Bakerloo line to Wemberly, so there may be something in your theory. Edited 2 August, 2010 by shurlock
