This one was true as well, Drogba before he went to Marseille, for £3m apparantly, malouda was also linked at the same time, also in Strachans autobiography as is the story he wanted to sign Saha and Malbranque from Fulham for £11m but Lowe said he didn't want to make our competitors financially stronger and us financially weaker so wouldn't do the deal.

 

I also heard that RL didn't like Drogba, because he had ..an attitude.

Thank goodness for that , I mean ..whoever would want to sign a goalscorer ..with an attitude !

It was the Dutchman Knol who played a friendly against Woking and despite looking decent, and also that idiot George was clearly averse to signing defenders at the time, both Alps and I were pretty ****ed off that we passed on him.
