Dog Posted 27 July, 2010 Share Posted 27 July, 2010 Got a rat problem under my shed, next to my bantams. I have tried catching them in a trap for over a month with cheese, peanut butter, doughnuts, chocolate cake and sausages, but so far nothing. Last thursday I purchased a plastic trap called 'Big Cheese', and sunday morning I found 3" of tail with 9" of sinew. But tonight after walking my Gus, I came back to the garden to hear scratching and knocking to find a 10" rat caught by the back foot trying to get under the shed with trap still atached. So I got my leather glove on and pulled the ba5tard out, it wasn't a pretty sight. 4 .22 flat point pellets through the ringpiece and he stopped breathing. Job done!! Big buggers arn't they. Now for the rest of his family & friends. I have a picture if I can post it?
hamster Posted 27 July, 2010 Share Posted 27 July, 2010 Why am I laughing at that? I am going to sit out back and have a beer to see if the chuckiling subsides.

Arizona Posted 28 July, 2010 Share Posted 28 July, 2010 I've got a yellow anaconda which could eats rats, I'd recommend them. Think I mentioned him on a thread about moles a few weeks ago. This isn't mine but you get the idea:
LVSaint Posted 28 July, 2010 Share Posted 28 July, 2010 We've got those same traps in our garage. Use anchovies for bait in the future for faster results. Now my garage smells like a Pompey brothel....
