Secret Site Agent Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 I'm disgusted with myself for wasting two minutes reading this! I'm amazed at how many on this site don't get satire. Think i'll **** off to world of warcraft.
alpine_saint Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 I'm amazed at how many on this site don't get satire. Think i'll **** off to world of warcraft. I know, its bizarre how some on this site have difficulty with complex concepts. Its like explaining colour to a blind man on here sometimes.
jam Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 I know, its bizarre how some on this site have difficulty with complex concepts. Its like explaining colour to a blind man on here sometimes. Do you mean complex concepts like being able to criticise one or more decisions by the chairman of a football club while still supporting him and the club itself?
Dave Benson Phillips Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 Do you mean complex concepts like being able to criticise one or more decisions by the chairman of a football club while still supporting him and the club itself? You don't have to support him to support the football club.
hypochondriac Posted 2 August, 2010 Author Posted 2 August, 2010 Do you mean complex concepts like being able to criticise one or more decisions by the chairman of a football club while still supporting him and the club itself? hallelujah!
alpine_saint Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 Do you mean complex concepts like being able to criticise one or more decisions by the chairman of a football club while still supporting him and the club itself? I personally have no problem with that. I do have a problem with being called a skate tw*t or a WUM or a troll because I wont give an emotional blank cheque to the club that I have supported my entire life and agree with the ****amamie theory that everything is just peachy when it clearly isnt. Also the concept that you should not be able to express an opinion on a result or performance unless you went to the game is also the machinations of a limited intellect.

Do you still believe that the opinion of someone who did not go to the game is more valid than the opinion of someone who went?
John B Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 Do you still believe that the opinion of someone who did not go to the game is more valid than the opinion of someone who went? No I went to the Farnborough match came home and read some of the comments which did not fit what actually happened on the pitch. But of course if you were not there you would not know that the comments were not reasonable
alpine_saint Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 Do you still believe that the opinion of someone who did not go to the game is more valid than the opinion of someone who went? Why are you still banging on about that? You know perfectly well it has been taken out of context.
Wes Tender Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 Do you still believe that the opinion of someone who did not go to the game is more valid than the opinion of someone who went? That rather depends on the circumstances, doesn't it? There are blind people who attend matches. Also some whose eyesight is below par when required to see what happened the full length of the pitch away. On the other hand, some who did not attend might have viewed the match on TV and have the advantage of video replays, slow-motion and analysis by pundits. Even by listening to the match on the radio, one is still able to hold a valid opinion about the team selection or the formation, tactics and substitutions, surely? I suspect that you did not personally attend the World Cup. Would you therefore feel incapable of an intelligent analysis as to why the English team or the selection or tactics were crap?

What have you now got left to support?

Pardon me if I misread you post but it comes across like you are suggesting that because NC put SFC and Uncle Markus together, that he should have carte blanche to run the club back into the ground?
Daren W Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 ""They came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for for me and by that time no one was left to speak up." It may be a bit over the top for such a small issue but for all those people who seem to think that as if doesn't affect them then they don't care, remember that one day something will happen that will affect you and some people won't give a **** either... There's far too many smartarses on here passing juvenile comments on installment plans/half season tickets, who don't go to many games and, as it doesn't affect them, feel entitled to mock those who it does affect.... You may not like Nick Illingsworth but please don't come crying to me when the club does something that ****es you off as I just won't give a stuff...

Not carte blanch, but until now he done a proven job.

yorkie Posted 2 August, 2010 Posted 2 August, 2010 Is this still going? How can such a small issue run for so many pages? Surely it is an extension of going anywhere where you pay - if the management don't want you there - no matter what colour your money you aint getting in! Fact is they don't seem to want to offer Mr.Illingsworth the saving a ST offers - but he can but a ticket every week. If it is an identity problem give the money to someone to but the ticket on your behalf and by-pass the system. To some owning a ST seems more important than anything else - honestly you can be a good fan without one you know!
Norm Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 I'm amazed at how many on this site don't get satire. Think i'll **** off to world of warcraft. Oh, it was Satire! Sorry, all I could read was a meaningless confusion of words.
AussieDog Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 hey! I went down to my local the other day and they wouldn't let me in! Now I've been going there for near on 30 years, day in day out. I have me 2 pints of bitter and a game of darts and a bit of grumble, but I'm no trouble. Well....apart from that time I insulted the landlord and told everone how he was going to be the ruin of the place...oh and yeah I know I went to the local press and spouted me mouth off over how he runs the place and how he has his favourites and how he got rid of that young girl behind the bar with the big b00bies, just because she kept giving free pints away. Well...I know some of her friends were a bit suspect too, but that's not the point. Look, I know I've been trying to make a bit of money on the side, running coaches to the pub and charging me mates to come and check out the wench with the big b00bies, and I know they were disappointed when I forgot to tell them that they didn't really get free pizza when they came in the door, but I LOVE the place....how dare they! Anyone would think it was HIS pub and HIS reputation I was trying to ruin. I just want it run my way. I don't care if he loses money. Everyone realises that I know far more about running a football club... I mean pub...than he does. He's only been there 5 minutes and I've been drinking beer for 30 years!! Bl00dy stupid name anyway. Never know a boss called Nic yet who has done a good job!
La BoIS Saint Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 I seriously can't believe those on this site who are poodles but probably actually seriously believe they own their own minds. I blame the education system.
Red and White Army Posted 3 August, 2010 Posted 3 August, 2010 After the Silverspoons fiasco, I wrote to the club asking them to take all possible actions to ensure that the Saints Trust was not seen, or likely to be seen, as officially sanctioned by the club. What actually happened at Silverspoons? I have seen a lot of mention of this, but no idea what actually happened?

Has anyone clarified yet whether this is a problem with Nick Illingsworth's credit limit on his Mastercard rather than the onset of the holocaust?

The above was re-written by Jasper Linder based on his fathers experiences with Mordechai Anelewicz and the polish uprising. His point? There are more things going on in the world than what you percieve. And just because you choose not to speak out, it doesn't mean others are not, and are not willing to. And in future isn't it a bit wrong to compare Nicola Corteze and the treatment of one individual, according to HIM, with the Nazi regieme and the death of 2 miilion jews, gypsies, disabled and communists.

OldNick Posted 4 August, 2010 Posted 4 August, 2010 What actually happened at Silverspoons? I have seen a lot of mention of this, but no idea what actually happened? It was promotion in the Echo, by Ni and friends that there was going to be a fantastic party at a club by Wembley (JPT finalday), with top dj ex-players. On turning up it was disgrace, and IMO a rip off. They didnt have enough staff, i think the beer ran out and so they were selling cans at pump prices etc etc The event apparently was in conjunction with a Pompey fan who earned a big commission and brags about it. This is just a skirt around the day, look up in the archive about Silverspoons, there was a thread on it

Talk about overreaction, you and Alpine of all people, talking to me about overreaction! Oh the ****ing irony!! I notice you deliberately took out this part of my post... "It may be a bit over the top for such a small issue but..." Read the ****ing post, the quote is being used in the context that people like you don't give a **** about certain things that are going on the club because it doesn't affect you. One day the club will do something that does affect you and people such as me won't care a stuff about you ... To take the quote and then try to portray me as someone trying to compare Cortese to a Nazi is ****ing brainless, lazy and a desperate attempt to deflect attention from the fact that people like you don't give a stuff about anyone other than yourselves... Amazing how people continually ask for proof from one side of the fence whilst blindly accepting the other side as absolute...
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 4 August, 2010 Posted 4 August, 2010 I think this thread has gone way over the top and way too far. We are rapidly approaching, if not already passed, libellous posts and enough is enough.
