hypochondriac Posted 27 July, 2010 Share Posted 27 July, 2010 Well, I would respond to this post, but i have a special agreement with NC not to talk about Saints over an internet forum. He threatened me with legal action if i did.... See, we can all do it. Go and speak to Nick yourself in the real world. He isn't difficult to find because he goes to most away games. Barry the Badger Posted 27 July, 2010 Share Posted 27 July, 2010 He would have had to say something pretty bloody bad in order to deserve a ban IMO. That said, he seems like the type of guy who would be shouting from the rooftops if this has happened, so I will take it with a pinch of salt for now. Marsdinho Posted 27 July, 2010 Share Posted 27 July, 2010 Slightly off-topic... Does anyone know why the Saints Trust website is down and why the Echo has for some reason stopped using the Saints crest? I think they redesign their website every time the sh1t hits the fan and they feel they need a clean slate. I think we are in one of those periods now, so the webiste is being "re-launched". It seems as thought they think that by changing the look of their site, all their past ****-ups are forgotten.
once_bitterne Posted 27 July, 2010 Share Posted 27 July, 2010 The Trust's web site was hacked by Spammers about a year ago and had remained in it's hacked state ever since. Maybe they have finally got around to taking it off-line.....

OldNick Posted 27 July, 2010 Share Posted 27 July, 2010 FFS if NI had been banned there would be a march being organised on the UI by now. Stu has an agenda and will jump on any bandwagon to try and unseat NC. If NI has the wrath of the club he would have to have said something pretty stupid, in the main he is quite careful in his wording. Perhaps the club don't like his commercial activities drawing funds away from the official merchandise, who knows? Im sure that NI will tell the posters on his site the full story. It is amusing the saintsweb being known as the dark side, who's Darth Vader? Alpine????

I don't have an agenda, I just nailed my colours to the mast about the installment plan, and as a result have alot of communication coming in from other Saints fans, who one way or another have been f*cked over by the club. If someone wants to give me some examples of 'fan-friendly' Cortese then I am happy to take them into account, all I have heard from that side of the argument is popping out to say hello to the overnight P*mpey queue. Dave Benson Phillips Posted 27 July, 2010 Share Posted 27 July, 2010 At the moment there is a very delicate situation going on between myself and the club , whilst i am loathe to comment for obvious reasons I think its pertinent to make sure that the facts are not distorted. 1. After the season ticket repayment plan was withdrawn at the start of June, the Saints Trust issued a statement requesting Nicola Corstese to reconsider, this statement was printed in part by the Echo and also on this website. A letter was also sent to Nicola Cortese requesting a meeting and recieved an e mail acknowledgement that this had been recieved and would be dealt with 2. The Trust recieved no reply from the club regarding either the statement or the request for a meeting 3. The Trust then recieved other correspondence from the Club regarding other matters, the Trust complied with the Club's request to take down the Club badge amongst other images off of its website, indeed the Trust removed the entire website to ensure that there could be no confusion. 4. Shortly after the season ticket deadline I noticed that my money had been refunded by the club. I have to date recieved no correspondence from the club to explain this. 5. Despite repeated e mailed requests to various members of senior management at the club and attempts to speak to them on the phone I again have received no reason for this happening or until yesterday anyone who would actually acknowledge my correspondence. At present I do not have a season ticket for the forthcoming season, this is the first time this has been the case in appoximately 20 years, indeed since I first entered the Dell in January 1972, nearly 39 years ago I would hazard a guess that I have missed no more than around 20 matches or so. I have no idea what is going on, so i cannot give a reason as to what has happened so I am loathe to comment further at present . There you go. OldNick Posted 27 July, 2010 Share Posted 27 July, 2010 There you go. Well you are right then Stu, apologies. It will be interesting how this runs. Personally i feel NI is a devoted saints fan, but his commercial activities and the ensueing Silverspoon episode makes me feel he has lost a lot of sympathy from a lot of people who were duped. He of course is not banned but the privilage of the season ticket has been taken away.

The above is from the horses mouth, so no speculation...no mention of being banned either. Stu / DBP, Is it just a lack of installment plans offered by SFC that has driven your hatred towards NC to the point of now feeling sorry for NI. Quite a turn around. Since kicking off about the installment plan, various people have made me aware about their own personal experiences of Cortese, although many don't want to put their head above the parapit. Yes the Installment Plan or lack of it has massively p!ssed me off. Why? Because it put me in a situation of sort my kids birthdays out and fix the car or buy a season ticket, naturally the kids came first, so as a direct result of their action I am without a season ticket for the first time since I moved back to the area. If their reasons were true about high administrative costs then I would of course accept this, but the club have deliberately and blatantly lied to me and other fans. I know this because I have personally spokent to both companies who administrate the installment plan and have all the figures. People can say I am wrong, blah blah blah, the fact is I am the only one who has done the research and who has the figures to prove the club wrong, yet they ignored me for 17 days, and after relentless bugging of them, they sent me a letter basically just telling me to shut up. Then since then, there have been numerous stories on here of disregard for fans and taking supporters for granted, as well as cost rises all over the show, some people may accept this, but people would do well to remember we are still in League 1! People have also emailed me with stories and I am also in the loop with some of the goings on internally, although there is limited amounts I can say otherwise I have no doubt I will have a solicitors letter landing on my doorstep. All in all, I am positive for this season, although I think we might go up the hard way through the play-offs. But I am very worried and the clubs complete lack of respect for the supporters. stevegrant Posted 27 July, 2010 Share Posted 27 July, 2010 But you get my point. Not really, what you're suggesting is that, despite being debt-free (to external finance providers, at least, ML will rightly want a return on his initial investment over time), if ML gets fed up and sells the club, we're up **** creek again. The simple fact is that, unless we go on a Pompey-esque spending bender between now and that point, we wouldn't be.

Would you all be happy that Nick is organising Saints Aid II to keep us afloat. Ah, now we have the root of your problem. Allow me... Liebherr is a Billionaire businessman. SFC is not a toy to him, it's an investment, he is here to make money, make no mistake about that, you would be naive to think otherwise. If SFC was a toy then he would make sure that SFC is being run in a much more family/fan friendly way, no booking fees, removal of installment plans, pay and display parking etc. Pricing would not be the most expensive match prices in league etc etc etc... As a result of that, Liebherr is not going to walk away and p!ss money up the wall if Cortese goes, he will find someone else he trusts and continue his investment and get him to the Premiership, where he will milk the profits for a couple of years before selling it on. Even if he does sell earlier, he has to find someone to buy the club. Liebherr might be a billionaire, but that is irrelevent, we are pretty close to living within our means in my opinion, certainly if your take off the initial signings... we don't need a billionaire to do what Liebherr and Cortese are doing, although it's nice to have the security.
