trousers Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 why...why is the trust required...why why why..? will be an anti-cortese fest...and ironcally, the likes of illingworth moaning that saints have not stuck to their "fans charter",, A valid view, but I guess that is what the AGM is for....submitting such views via the appropriate channels to ensure your view is represented?
Marsdinho Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 "This AGM will focus on the valuable role the trust has played in the past year" "The last year has been a low key one in respect of the Trust" You couldnt f*cking make it up, honestly....
manji Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 That'll be a good meeting.4 or 5 of the usual rent-a-gobs trying to find some thing to moan about.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Can someone go along and tell them to stfu?
LostBoys Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 I would not want to diss the Trust as they are fans and I enjoy the Ugly articles even if I do not agree with them. I have never understood that the Trust serves any purpose apart from represent 'the fans' general viewpoint which they simply just do not do. They alienated vast swathes of the fans with their antics and comments during the reign of Rupes version 2 - a seat on the Board you are having a laugh. If the AGM simply dishes up anti Liebherr, Cortese and Pardew sentiment they will simply marginalise themselves still further.
Saint George Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 "Since coming out of administration the new owners have recently decided to scrap the informal consultation system introduced by Rupert Lowe through which the Chairman as the trusts club liaison officer had informal discussions with members of the clubs management team - and has rejected the plan suggested by the trust in regard to the adoption of a continental supporters association model. The trust will be taking measures to try and establish a new formal liaison structure with the club and will establish its own independent policies and strategies necessary to achieve its constitutional objectives. Sound more like a statement from a Trade Union, just prior to dragging everyone out on strike.....Hopefully NC will put them on their bike and Saints fans will be able to see this shower for what it is How the hell this bunch can call them selves the "Saints Trust" when they no longer own any shares or have 'any' connection to the Club is beyond me.....If they had anything about them they would have done the right thing and dissolved the organization a week or so after Saints fell into private hands
The Kraken Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Just another talking shop for the same old faces to get their oxygen of publicity. No thanks.
MarkSFC Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Their statement is truly laughable. The quotes Marsdinho has highlighted sum them up... "This AGM will focus on the valuable role the trust has played in the past year" "The last year has been a low key one in respect of the Trust" Why do they feel the need to continue in this vain. The "Saints Trust" surely "technically collapsed when the club went into Administration? Their purpose I was led to believe was to be able to have a voice at the AGM and as a collective group, attempt to have an influence. It failed so why on earth continue...especially under the same name? I have no problem whatsoever with any group of fans forming some form of group and acting in the best interests of fans (generically-not "on their behalf"). If such a group or groups are effective and needed then their numbers will increase and so will their profile. Currently though, I really dont see a need for any fans' groups, particularly "politically motivated" ones (to whatever degree). There may come a time when there is aneed and then the formation of a fans group should happen in order to address whatever that may be.... I have said this before and will say it again The Saints Trust should disband (as should SISA, FWIW) and IF NECCESSARY a brand new fans group can exist from a clean slate. I hope to god though that there will be no need for any politically motivated fans group for many years to come.
dune Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 How many members are there now in the trust? 838, because Nick Illingsworth decreed that anyone who became a member automatically became a life member for counting purposes. I do not lie, this is 100% fact.
NickG Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 you only have to look on here to learn two things: there is no single fans view fans have not got a clue about running a football club. People getting carried away with the importance of fans view imho
Turkish Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 838, because Nick Illingsworth decreed that anyone who became a member automatically became a life member for counting purposes. I do not lie, this is 100% fact. I am sure they had over 2000 at one point??
Turkish Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 you only have to look on here to learn two things: there is no single fans view fans have not got a clue about running a football club. People getting carried away with the importance of fans view imho Exactly, if it was left to the fans we'd have squads of 80 players with everyone getting in the ground for £2.50 and given a free beer and burger at half time.
Phil the Saint Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Exactly, if it was left to the fans we'd have squads of 80 players with everyone getting in the ground for £2.50 and given a free beer and burger at half time. What he said.
70's Mike Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 That'll be a good meeting.4 or 5 of the usual rent-a-gobs trying to find some thing to moan about. think they are unknown rent a gobs

Big Dick Last Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 why...why is the trust required...why why why..? will be an anti-cortese fest...and ironcally, the likes of illingworth moaning that saints have not stuck to their "fans charter",, I was told at the weekend that Nick had his season ticket money returned to him due to his "inappropriate comments". What ever happened to freedom of speech!
aintforever Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Whilst I think Illingsworth is a **** it's still good to have some sort of fan's organisation IMO, especially with the way Cortese has been acting.
Dave Benson Phillips Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 would that £2.50 be payable upfront or instalments? Ohhhh look, there's the same joke used again for the 1534th time. No wonder you are single, lonely old man and spend every evening on here.
dune Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 I am sure they had over 2000 at one point?? Nah, that figure was the target figure I think, or may have been the collective figure for the Trust and other fans groups added together.
dune Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Here are the saints trust members on tour Just come across it This one made me (on same youtube page)

dune Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Connor McClaren, 18, is a Nissan production line worker from Sunderland. Vice: How did you first hear about Stone Island? Connor: I remember the first time I saw a Stone Island coat was around 2006-7 at the football. Seeing it week in, week out really got me into it. Then I started buying on eBay. When did you first buy it? What did you buy? Think my first bit of Stone Island was around 2007 – a hooded shimmer. I never took it off. Recently, the coats have become a lot harder to get hold of and more expensive on eBay. A lot of my coats are nearly as old as me. Why do you like it? It’s unique; Stone Island’s founder, Carlo Rivetti, is a genius. The reflective jackets [below] are unreal! I think i'll stick with TK Maxx.
