I hired a cine projector recently from Parkers the camera specialists in Woolston, around a tenner for 24hrs. (would post a link to them but it comes up with a warning atm)

PS we lost 3-2 not 5-2 It was a good game. David Peach amongst others played well

Dunno what game you were at, but I saw Forest score 5 perfectly good goals that day.

What is your point?

I have a projector but it is only standard 8, not Super 8. I have a load of old family movies from the early 60s that I once got converted to vhs by Parkers at Woolston. Then later I got them to put it on dvd for me. It cost me a fortune but now all the family have copies.

The following season at The Dell, by way of some retribution, Saints destroyed Forest 4-1. Manager Brian Clough said, Southampton were incredible. Better than us in every department.

The Big Match highlights of the League Cup Final match are available on the Net.

Last year (when I was a jobseeker), ITV4 re-ran every episode of The Big Match from that season in its correct week, including the League Cup final (which, I think, was the only episode to feature Saints at all).

There were more than a few weeks when they had little to show, because of a very bad winter. Channon was at Man City, and they were on more than once, so that was interesting... even Brentford were on (the name Bill Dodgin made me scramble for my copy of In That Number).

It was a bit depressing to watch though - seeing how poor and scruffy everything looked - watching a 30 year old recession while in the middle of another one. Hard to explain, but it accentuated the feeling of life slipping past (I was 10 in 1979, and apparently didn't know I was born!).

I think his point is you must have been ****ed that day as forest only scored 3 goals. Oh I was there at wembley as well and I certainly don't recall them scoring 5 goals
Then you have a very poor memory or very poor eyesight. They scored five goals - all perfectly valid. The fact that the linesman disallowed two (incorrectly) does not detract from the fact that we got absolutely stuffed on the day. Have a read and refresh your fading memory......http://www.football-england.com/nottingham_forest_3_southampton_2_league_cup_final_1979.html - HTH ;-) Edited by kpturner
