TijuanaTim Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Both were subs yesterday Kyle Davies for Dallas and Leandre Griffit came off the bench to score for for Columbus.
NY Saint Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 I watched two ex-Saints today one playing against MLS opposition. Word on the street, or the guy next to me whose in with the Man City setup, Bridge isn't well liked, hasn't performed for Citeh and will be leaving before the transfer window if any bids come in. Its unlikely he'll be heading our way though. He was at fault for the first Redbulls goal today, was skinned several more times by former Saints' player sound alike Dane Richards. Bridge spent much of the game a lone figure too often with teammates not interested in playing with him, even when he set up Citeh's only goal. Definitely need to watch out for a kid called Joel Lindpere, quality midfield player. Gareth Bale looked very involved for Spurs and was pushed so far forward by 'Arry he played as a left winger. Nice to see 'Arry wearing shorts in the 100 degree weather. Actually it wasn't but I couldn't think of a clever way of fitting him into the write up. Thierry Henry looked really off the pace of the game and didn't make it out for the second half.

kpturner Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 .....will be leaving before the transfer window if any bids come in. Its unlikely he'll be heading our way though.Bugger......get my hopes up then dash them. Can't imagine why he wouldn't want L1 footie.
Thedelldays Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 redknapp has a face that looks like a collapsed lung
kpturner Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 redknapp has a face that looks like a collapsed lung You should see his dad!
Pugwash Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 redknapp has a face that looks like a collapsed lung Big LOL. Just spat my cheese sandwich all over the keyboard!
LostBoys Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 I never understood why we let Kyle Davies go. I saw a couple of his performances for us and he looked the part - wasn't he the USA U17 captain?
TijuanaTim Posted 26 July, 2010 Author Posted 26 July, 2010 I never understood why we let Kyle Davies go. I saw a couple of his performances for us and he looked the part - wasn't he the USA U17 captain? He is a decent young player and doing fairly well in Texas. An earlier poster was also correct about Ryan Smith - he shone in KC's win over Man Utd, NY Saint is right the Red Bulls guys tore up a lack-lustre looking Bridge in Citeh's 2-1 defeat to MLS opposition...Just as footnote DC United rounded off a memorable trio of US club wins this week-end over 2009-10 Prem opposition by thumping a sad pompee side 4-0......
paulwantsapint Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Just as well Wayne Bridge is not rejoining saints this site would explode with moans about signing yet another injury prone LB & not a CM
Arizona Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Joel Lindpere was one of my HCDAJFU a while back. Looked like one of Estonia's better players against England in THAT Euro qualifying campaign. The other decent looking players from Estonia were Raio Piiroija, CB for Fredrikstad in Norway who goes to training on a boat and Sander Puri, now playing with none other than our very own Rudi Skacel at Larissa in Greece. They could all DAJFU. P.S. Who else thought Griffit was the next big thing and has been wondering what might have been ever since?
Smirking_Saint Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 redknapp has a face that looks like a collapsed lung He is known as Satchel face in our house
SuperMikey Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 When Griffit scored against Blackburn, I thought we had the next big thing. Turns out I was wrong.
benjii Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 I remember when he scored against Newcastle. Think it was an equaliser to make it 3-3? Me and my mate were dancing round our flat singing some sort of Griffit song (we were drunk). I also remember when he played against Arsenal in the relegation season. Complete turd-pat.
Saint Garrett Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 I remember when he scored against Newcastle. Think it was an equaliser to make it 3-3? The 'Leandre Griffit Griffit' ? (I like to move it move it) ? I thought he was going to be class and we had a gem of a player...obviously not
kpturner Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 I remember when he scored against Newcastle. Think it was an equaliser to make it 3-3? Actually he scored very late on to make it 3-2 to Saints....then true to normal form we conceded an injury time equaliser - long range daisy cutter by Darren Ambrose methinks.
once_bitterne Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 The 'Leandre Griffit Griffit' ? (I like to move it move it) ? I thought he was going to be class and we had a gem of a player...obviously not I thought Griffit and Folly could turn out to be our own Henry and Viera. They didn't......
kpturner Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 I thought Griffit and Folly could turn out to be our own Henry and Viera. They didn't......Yoann Folly was Sturroch's love child.
warsash saint Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 How I miss the days of Greenwich Saint salivating over Griffit
