Saint Garrett Posted 25 July, 2010 Posted 25 July, 2010 Squad for the game is Davis, Bialkowski, Forecast, Jaidi, Dickson, Fonte, Harding, Butterfield, Seaborne, Martin, Puncheon, Lallana, Holmes, Doble, Hammond , Wotton, Schneiderlin, Barnard, Lambert, Connolly, McNish, Mills, Racine , Tafazolli, Reeves, Argent, Holder-Spooner. Good to see Dickson in there, shows his injury can't be too bad. Hopefully we'll see something of Lallana as well. Anyone going ?

I'd like to think at least 11 or so of the names you mentioned above will be there. Maybe more.
InvictaSaint Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Last time I went to a friendly at Barnet, circa 1998, Mark Hughes had just signed and I saw him, Carlton Palmer and John Beresford arguing with a security guard who was refusing to let Palmer and Beresford out of the car park until they agreed to move their cars. I wonder what will happen tonight....
Berkhamsted Saint Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 A few from Colslaw will be going to this as local game for us.
simonsaints1 Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 I'll be there (on account of living 5 minutes from the ground.) Best pub is The Mitre up in the High Road and the Red Lion right next to Underhill is ok.
saintray Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 anyone know how much tickets are? cant find it anywhere!
Nexstar Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 I think its pay on the day only, and adult tickets were £12 and concessions £5.
Andy_Porter Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 I shall be there, quite looking forward to this one. Going on the Northern line rather than overground to high Barnet.

Ludwig Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Update on what? The game's tomorrow evening. Looking forward to it, fairly local!
Saint Fan CaM Posted 26 July, 2010 Posted 26 July, 2010 Sorry - meant on squad news - what with Lallana probably not featuring, new faces etc.
simonsaints1 Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Living that close to Barnet you should join Colslaw (Committee of loyal Saints living around Watford) I'll join tonight and will look out for you guys-will you have that flag and which pub are you going to be in?
ManorHouseSaint Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Me & two (possibly 3) other London based Saints fans are heading up too. Probably be at The Mitre beforehand if anyone fancies saying hello...
SaintDonkey Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 I was going to give it a miss - but after realising I can get a bus direct from my front door to Underhill it would be criminal not to go!
South Londoner Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Me and two mates will be trundling up the Northern Line after work tonight and will be heading for The Mitre.
Essruu Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Radhi won't be playing. He's having an injection right now.
Matthew Le God Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Charlton lost 1-0 to Barnet a few days ago, so will be interesting to see the views of those on here that think results in preseason matter. (they don't btw )
Nexstar Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 It's heaving... No sign of rickie, fonte, Morgan, lallana or puncheon. Or pardew for that matter!
Saint Garrett Posted 27 July, 2010 Author Posted 27 July, 2010 Saints V Barnet: Davis. Butterfield, Martin, Racine, Dickson, Holder-Spooner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Carter, Hammond, Mills, Barnard
NickG Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 talks about him trialing with millwall but not agreeing terms

for_heaven's_Saint Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Hmmm, anyone there who can confirm? Does he look like this:
John B Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=426&fid=204&act=1&mid=2120810861 Good signing if true?? Very true
Gemmel Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Looks like Darren Carter playing for us! Yep Nipper just phoned to say he is starting - He's from Birmingham I think
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 (edited) Yep Nipper just phoned to say he is starting - He's from Birmingham I think Definitely him? If so, this is the centre midfielder we've been waiting for! Disclaimer: not saying he's going to be any good. Edited 27 July, 2010 by for_heaven's_Saint
Saint Garrett Posted 27 July, 2010 Author Posted 27 July, 2010 Definitely Darren Carter...http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/8295407.Saints_include_Preston_midfielder_in_friendly_at_Barnet/?ref=rss

S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Carter really struggled for PNE and their fans could not stand him, but i think that's got more to do with their situation rather than him as a player. He was always pretty highly rated when at Brum and was decent for WBA in our play-off season. He's too good for this level anyway, would be a good signing - but wouldn't want to see us pay over £1m for him.

ohwhenthesaints Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Can't say I remember seeing any of him, what sort of midfielder is he?
S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Can't say I remember seeing any of him, what sort of midfielder is he? a hammond type of player iirc, nothing special, just a bog standard CM.

Fully agree, he's a very good player but I think about 600k-700k would be more appropriate with add-ons depending on promotion, apps etc
S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Yeh looking at their forum' date=' they all think he's sh*te.[/quote'] http://www.pne-online.net/forum/showthread.php?t=55590 they can't wait to get shot of him! but we've been like that with a few of our players in the past and they've turned into be really good players.....sometimes the club just does not suit the player.
Smirking_Saint Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Wasn't he a good player once ?? He lost his way a bit but hell if he does a job i'll be happy, i can't see a player being cast out on trial costing more than a mil though, IMO.
madruss Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 a hammond type of player iirc, nothing special, just a bog standard CM. If it pushes Wotton out of the matchday 16 then I'm all for it!!
Jonnyboy Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 well if he's starting what does that mean? he's a trialist or has signed?
Crab Lungs Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 Always thought he was OK (much better than the shiiiiite we've had in the past down here, even in the Champ) and to be fair, we could use the cover. He's not exactly Schneiderlin, but neither is he a Pulis/Wotton....
S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 well if he's starting what does that mean? he's a trialist or has signed? Trialist i'd guess, club would have announced if he'd signed (they would have had to i think) Hopefully there's an option to take him on loan.
Smirking_Saint Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 If it pushes Wotton out of the matchday 16 then I'm all for it!! Can't argue with that, i wonder if he is better than Wotton though ? I am sure i can think of a question to determine that, oh yes. Can he actually move without assistance ?
S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2010 Posted 27 July, 2010 £1.2m seems a substantial fee, IF true. we could have got stock for that!
