"I would be amazed if we even sold 9,000. It is well over priced for a friendly with Reading and I for one will not be attending."

Teach me to speak without doing my homework... My mate told me it was £18, turns out its only £12. Which aint bad! See ya there. haha...

Just as well really seeing as the game is at St Mary's.

I wondered how long it'd take for someone to spot the deliberate mistake.;)

Was going to go to this, will be the first time i've missed the last friendley off the season for many years but am now seriously considering not going.....tickets are good value if we were going to see a competitive game where it was not just all about obtaining fitness....i would have hoped we were already there or there abouts by now. I am for the first time starting to get slightly anxious about the start to the new season!

I'm going, mainly to check out the view from my new season ticket position, familarise myself with surroundings. Plus want to see how the sash looks in the flesh.

low turnout is certain and at least in part, this must be a reaction to ticket prices / car parking / crazy booking fees for the season ahead methinks.

oh, and its Reading FFS

I agree. If it was an unheard of foreign club at least there would be the appeal of the exotic. But Reading? Better off as the original poster said going down the beach (even Weston Shore)

Although I understand some people reservations towards friendlies, particularly against a team like Reading, it does provide a good opportunity for some fans to go to see Saints play. I am a huge fan, but due to financial restraints and the fact I live in Gloucester I find it difficult to get to many home games. Last year I went to all the local away games and managed to see us play against Leeds, Pompey and Gillingham.

Reading will be a good test, we should really be on a par with their standard if we are looking to win League 1 (the difference between Championship midtable and top League 1 teams is negligable at best) and hopefully we may have some signings to gel into the squad before August 7th.

So if you can make it, get down there...create an atmosphere and check out the sash...

All together now...'PERU...It's just like watchin' Peru!'

I might pop down, i have a mate who is a Reading fan, the one who got banned from here...........twice lol.

He seems to think we are a nothing little team, i would love it if we smashed them
