s0108787 Posted 22 July, 2010 Share Posted 22 July, 2010 We are stonger. This league is weaker. Most of the team are familiar with each other and have no need to 'gel'. I predict more than 83 points and automatic promotion.

tartanowl Posted 22 July, 2010 Share Posted 22 July, 2010 After earning 83 points last season with a squad that only properly took shape after the January transfer window, I'd be disappointed if Saints only got in the 80's again in 2010/11. I think it will be a very tight promotion race. I can see Huddersfield joining us in the 80s as well.
Bakovnetski Posted 22 July, 2010 Share Posted 22 July, 2010 I can see a few slip ups but 92 points (2 per game) should do it.
Smirking_Saint Posted 22 July, 2010 Share Posted 22 July, 2010 I think it will be a very tight promotion race. I can see Huddersfield joining us in the 80s as well. Huddersfield i doubt will be up there, playoffs perhaps, i really don't think you lot will have anywhere near the season you believe, even after the disasterous season you had last year, so not only does Irvine have to remove the bad taste from the relegation but also get the new guys to try and gel in. It won't be easy, but i think you will get promoted one way or another, its an easier league than last year, no one that came down is of the same quality of Leeds and Norwich, plus Swindon and Charlton have been weakened so all in all its an easier league this year. WealdSaint Posted 22 July, 2010 Share Posted 22 July, 2010 (edited) I predicted 100 points when we were first relegated to the Championship..........vowed I'd never make a pre season points estimate again. Until now :-) 93 Points Edited 22 July, 2010 by WealdSaint
docker-p Posted 22 July, 2010 Share Posted 22 July, 2010 97 points. You heard it here first. Of course if we were playing in our traditional kit of Red and White stripes we would easily make it over the 100 mark.

Like it's always had that affect. If we get 100 points with the sash, I reckon we should keep it because we will have actually found a lucky kit (for once). teamsaint Posted 22 July, 2010 Share Posted 22 July, 2010 had a look back at past tables. 88 has got automatic promotion every years recently.
NickG Posted 22 July, 2010 Author Share Posted 22 July, 2010 had a look back at past tables. 88 has got automatic promotion every years recently. so if the last 39 games next season match the last 39 last season that gives us 78, so all we need is 10 points from first 7 games instead of the 5 we got last year and we are there! Easy!
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 23 July, 2010 Share Posted 23 July, 2010 Will depend a lot on not having long term injuries to key players etc. I would take promotion at the end of the day - don't really care about the points total.
Torrent Of Abuse Posted 23 July, 2010 Share Posted 23 July, 2010 Average start. Good finish. 89 points. Scrape second. Disappointed not to get to 90 or first place.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 23 July, 2010 Share Posted 23 July, 2010 Over 100 points & 100 goals is a 33/1 shot with Betfair - well worth a punt in my opinion. Wouldn't that just be great! that means approx 2.2 points and goals a game required a tough target!
Johnny Shearer Posted 24 July, 2010 Share Posted 24 July, 2010 27 wins 9 draws 10 losses 90 Points.
Professor Posted 24 July, 2010 Share Posted 24 July, 2010 Every reason to be positive. Not all the sides in L1 are of the same standard as Sutton Utd.
