Oh great... a new head of marketing!

Expect everything to be re-branded. Out with the nickname the 'Saints' and in with some focus group nickname. The kit has already changed from the kit we've worn for 120 of our 125 years. All reference to our past and history to be overhauled in favour of themes that would appeal to middle class businessmen from Surrey. I can barely contain my excitement.

Southampton Slayers?

Southampton Strikers?

i Quite like that. got to move with the times, your journey is not what is behind you, but the road in front of you. The future is Southampton Strikers.

THAT is the reason I am very worried about the business model which is blatantly being built at SFC Ltd.

What?

A Model like Barca's, one that is heavily dependent on homegrown talent from the respective country?

Docker will like that name.

Southampton Spitfires, Sharks, 69ers, 76ers. What about a complete 180 degree turn, Southampton Sinners with Red Devils as a nick name, confusion marketing to get some of the far eastern market.

This geezer looks far too much like Andy Oldknow to be trusted.

I'm more concerned about David Bick. He looks like a mafia hitman with those sunglasses.

btw who gets interviewed wearing sunglasses ffs :D

No.

A business model which exploits its customer base financially to the very maximum that it is able to get away with.

There is no evidence thus far of MASSIVE changes in the youth structure nor what I would deem significant investment. Yes there have been some management changes, why not wait until players start filtering through before hailing it a success eh?

I was reading the paper today and they had the 5 highest transfers of teenagers in the country. Southampton had 2 of their Academy players in the top 5. Who was it that was responsible for the building of that Academy? Yes, it was Lowe. When Saints churn out the next 2 top quality Premiership players to the standard of Walcott and Bale, then we can start getting excited.

Yes, there is. They have gone on a massive recruitment drive in the summer with a host of jobs in youth coaching, youth scouting, youth fitness and conditioning and youth medical team. What did you expect to see?

It's another debate altogether, but there were loads of positives under Lowe, he gets far more stick than he deserves.

You mean replacing the ones that were made redundant due to looming administration meaning the club was running on skeleton staff?

The club are simply building the management staff up to solid operational levels. Don't get me wrong, there have been some good appointments, but let's not get carried away, we already had one of the best Academys in the country pre-administration, and Lowe must take the credit for that.

Like I said, when the Academy has churned out a few more Bales and Walcotts, we can start getting excited.

I agree that we need to see what the academy produces before we hail it a success, but equally we need to wait to see our premiership ticket prices before we moan about being ripped off!

Does no one find it weird that we have two pages of fans speculating and whingeing about the recruitment of some marketing staff ?

Whilst I am happy with The Sash for the season, by using the whole kit you are being a naughty boy with your stats. We have worn a striped shirt since 1896 (apart from the 10 seasons in the 80's). We have only worn the kit you mention for 10% of Saints history not the 40% you claim.
And the ten seasons of the eighties where variations on red and white stripes apart from the red with white shoulders of 85-86 i think was it?

But now in our 125 year we throw out our traditional kit for something that is predominatly white and not one Saints legend ever wore.

But I won't go on about it.
