Saint Billy Posted 23 July, 2010 Posted 23 July, 2010 Another classic Wikipedia quote from Big Ben himself "On leaving Portsmouth Benjani spoke of difficult times at the club. He declared that he had struggled to adjust to local customs involving smelling like a fish, dressing like a pikey and sleeping with your sister" Quality!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjani_Mwaruwari#Portsmouth This has got to be the funniest thing I have ever read on Wiki. I did'nt believe it was actually there till I read it myself.

scotty Posted 23 July, 2010 Posted 23 July, 2010 Poor striker with a poor games to goal ratio, claims to be 31 but thought to be older, and he was a skate....... nuff said. No thanks, we need a young, hungry up and coming player who will push for a first team place, not some over the hill, overpaid yesterday man who will be happy sit on the bench and take a big wage. So' date=' for clarity, do you want us to sign him or not?![/quote'] +1, get off the fence waggy
Mr Saints Posted 23 July, 2010 Posted 23 July, 2010 People need to remember where we are. We're in the third tier, a very average league which is weaker than last season (remember we started on -10, we didn't even start playing until 10 games into the season and we still nearly made the play-offs). Any player that has played in the Prem for the last 5/6 years is going to be a great signing and would strengthen us without doubt. You have to be a bit think not to realise this.

VectisSaint Posted 23 July, 2010 Posted 23 July, 2010 This has got to be the funniest thing I have ever read on Wiki. I did'nt believe it was actually there till I read it myself. Unfortunately its now been hijacked by a fish-fiddler, doesn't even know how to use a spell checker. "Benjamin Mwaruwari (born 13 August 1978), known as Benjani, is a Zimbabwean footballer, who currently is negotiating a move to Southampton as he's heard about this so-called "League One" and wants to know what it's like to play for a mediocre side in that division. He also has a rare condition which means he's addicted to losing 4-1 to teams playing in blue that are based only 17 miles away from the club he plays for and felt this would be the perfect opportunity to continue to feed that addiction. He also said he can't wait to get to grips with the local Stalions as he always wanted one back in Zimbabwe"

John B Posted 24 July, 2010 Posted 24 July, 2010 I agree with the Ugly I dont understand how we would play Benjani without causing problems with our current strikers http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/fb_news.php?storyid=8362&title=benjani_%21_why_
westmidlandsaint Posted 24 July, 2010 Posted 24 July, 2010 yeah as if a foreign billionaire would ever want to buy our club.....................oh wait......
Thedelldays Posted 24 July, 2010 Posted 24 July, 2010 I agree with the Ugly I dont understand how we would play Benjani without causing problems with our current strikers http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/fb_news.php?storyid=8362&title=benjani_%21_why_ he may be better...like saying dont know how we could play fonte without causing trouble to chris perry
Ewell Posted 24 July, 2010 Posted 24 July, 2010 I agree with the Ugly I dont understand how we would play Benjani without causing problems with our current strikers http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/fb_news.php?storyid=8362&title=benjani_%21_why_ I totally agree. In all honesty I would prefer Tyson as I think he brings more to the squad i.e. his ability to play wide as an impact sub as well as up front. If not Tyson then a younger hungrier impact player as said in the UI article.
skintsaint Posted 24 July, 2010 Posted 24 July, 2010 Benjani & Owen up front would score for fun in this league.
John B Posted 24 July, 2010 Posted 24 July, 2010 he may be better...like saying dont know how we could play fonte without causing trouble to chris perry Are you trying to be awkward>
Master Bates Posted 24 July, 2010 Posted 24 July, 2010 Echo says bid dismissed. Source close to the player says he knows nothing of any interest, plus he wants £40k a week.
CWD Posted 24 July, 2010 Posted 24 July, 2010 Echo says bid dismissed. Source close to the player says he knows nothing of any interest, plus he wants £40k a week. Oh well, fun while it lasted
