My first child was born today and my lovely wife allowed me to name it Matthew after my hero. Any one else got a little Mick, Alan, Bobbie, Peter, Lawrie, Gordon or even a Rickie?

Me and my wife had a baby boy yesterday weighing 10lb 15oz. Still cant think of a name. Seeing has he's a big fella, thinking of Le tissier in there somewhere.

Congratulations, my second was born four weeks ago so another Saint, as a Matthew I can assure you he will like his name.

On a different note I managed to get 'Oh When the Saints'played at my wedding, it was great getting the whole church singing it.

My mum's cat Zola has just had a litter of kittens and she has called one of them Lambert. She kept one of Zola's ( Mummy Cat ) kittens from last year and called it Torres. Its not Saints related but its just a cool name. Torres is my favourite cat ever but maybe Lambert will be just as good. Lambert has good skills with his little ball

Would love to know how many kids there are in Southampton called Matthew, compared to other cities. My oldests middle name is Matthew, would have been first name but the Mrs put her foot down.

My third daughters name is Lova - but her second name is Mary : ) And thats not a typical Swedish name - very Saints related and my wife said OK just because she felt sorry for me being the only bloke in the house (yes I have alot of gray hair)

Heard from a teaching friend of a lad called Lee....his middle name is Tissier. How cool is that?!... & what an understanding wife. She might not have known till later of course..

Something a little sad about naming your first child after your footballing hero. God, you are going to be sooooo disappointed if he wins Olympic gold in ice skating.

Wanted to name my daughter Shannon or Odell but didnt get my own way, much more difficult to name a little girl after your footballing hero.

Ordered a shirt for Christmas for my son over the phone - "Channon and no.8 on the back, please". It came a couple of days before Xmas with 'Shannon'!

They did rush me a corrected version in time for the Big Day after I promised to take the other back at the Boxing Day fixture. However, heard on the radio that was called off because of a frozen pitch after we were an hour into our journey to the Dell so I still have a mint, unwearable Saints shirt in my drawer!

My brother called his son, Theo. Pretty understated to be honest, nobody knows except football fans in the family who he's named after.

Thats so true - my missus said that if we would have got a son Mathew would never been an option since when you say that name in swedish is sounds abit strange, so im happy with the Mary part.

Hmm, Osgood would be an unusual one, Ronnie (Ekelund) maybe, (Tim) Flowers might not go down too well but Marian (Pahars) sounds good to me:D.

My daughter's middle name is Shannon, some of us have stronger wills than others :-) I did have to concede and not spell it with a "C" however.

My eldest daughter is Adele,

Did tread the water for Mary for our second daughter with her indoors but did not get far, she did agree at the eleventh hour to Mary as middle name but by then it was too late and I had settled on something else

It's a Pony/Sanderson with the narrow stripes and button-up collar from about '96 (as worn by Egil). Large.

Open to ridiculously generous offers.

My eldest duaghter has S.F.C. (F is Francis (Benali)) as her initials. So all her school clothes and school work have SFC written on! I also have a stickman tattoo with SFC underneath, which I told her was for her, but when I had my 2nd daughter I also had to get a tattoo with her initials, which has no football connection at all (was not allowed!!) of L.M.C.

Now you are a proud dad with a son called Matthew, probably best to get out the habit of referring to him as 'it', eh - or least by secondary school .
