Smirking_Saint Posted 15 July, 2010 Posted 15 July, 2010 Well, that doesn't surprise me, he hardly had the most impressive of world cups. IMO in the past he has been a good partner to the England strike force, however right now he is just not the man we needed upfront. I would imagine he wouldn't be the first to retire in the near future.
Smirking_Saint Posted 15 July, 2010 Author Posted 15 July, 2010 He retired in 2002 His legs did, they have now let his head know
Hatch Posted 15 July, 2010 Posted 15 July, 2010 That makes Ricky Lambert Englands new number 9 by my reckoning.
Andy_Porter Posted 15 July, 2010 Posted 15 July, 2010 Now we just need Green, James, Terry, Rio, Cole x2, Lampard and Gerrard to retire. They've had there chance.
SuperMikey Posted 15 July, 2010 Posted 15 July, 2010 Now we just need Green, James, Terry, Rio, Cole x2, Lampard and Gerrard to retire. They've had there chance. If England fans could read some of the stuff posted on here now when they'd just qualified from their group, they'd all be scratching their heads. I can see that people think that the blame lies with the players, and it does, but taking the underperforming players out of the picture completely is the wrong thing to do, especially when there's nobody else in the frame to replace them. There's a reason why Gerrard and Cole are being hunted by Real Madrid, they're world class players that just don't have the motivation to perform at International level.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 15 July, 2010 Posted 15 July, 2010 Emile Heskey, 62 caps, 7 goals. Columbian goalkeeper Rene Higuita, 68 caps, 8 goals....
Dark Munster Posted 15 July, 2010 Posted 15 July, 2010 He should have retired in 2002 I've corrected it for you.
SNSUN Posted 15 July, 2010 Posted 15 July, 2010 Emile Heskey, 62 caps, 7 goals. Columbian goalkeeper Rene Higuita, 68 caps, 8 goals.... Boo, if Heskey had played 6 more games, he might've got that eighth goal! The only England game I remember him being good in was the Germany 5-1, and that was probably because I was on such a cloud 9, I didn't even notice his crapness. CM96 got it right - he was always shyte for Leicester.
hamster Posted 15 July, 2010 Posted 15 July, 2010 ****NEWSFLASH**** Man discovers fire. although tbh HCDAJFU imho
Appy Posted 16 July, 2010 Posted 16 July, 2010 I remember Heskey being useful with Owen during McClown's tenure, a couple of decent results against Israel and Russia seemed to save his international career from oblivion.
Hatch Posted 26 August, 2010 Posted 26 August, 2010 just watching a bit of the Villa game on ITV4. Petrov had a penalty saved, ball rolled out to Heskey, 7 yards out with an open goal. I bet you can't guess what happened?
Hatch Posted 26 August, 2010 Posted 26 August, 2010 and now typically, just after I post a 'Heskey is Shyte' post, he scores.
