Saint Fan CaM Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 This was mentioned on the Switzerland thread, but given his importance, thought it meritted its own thread. It's a report on below website that he's dislocated his shoulder. Could be a significant issue to the squad and indeed the start of the season - IF true. Anyone heard anything firm about this? http://www.charltonlife.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=35590&page=1#Item_0
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 If so, better get a move on and snap up Simon Francis on a free! Feel sorry for him but no room for sentiment in this game...
skintsaint Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 we was 2nd choice to Harding at right back anyway
John B Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 In Pardew's Report on the OS he says that no injuries have been picked up
S-Clarke Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 How would a charlton fan know? he's probably nursing a slight knock, or he wasn't up to the level of fitness of the other players. We'll probably see him on saturday.
Under Weststand Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Would be a real blow if true! This could happen at any-time during the season, just shows that we need cover at RB. Does seem strange that he didn't play at all yesterday so gives the rumour some credence.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Bloody hell....why is AP and NC buying/investing in injury prone players? Stupid
NickG Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 (edited) This is the trouble with signing players too early! We should have waited!!! Why oh why is AP so influenced by Alpine? Edited 14 July, 2010 by NickG
View From The Top Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 LOL. Charlton mong writes something and panic breaks out.
JustMike Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 OS says no injuries charlton mong says injuries and we all panic!
FreemantleSaint Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Yeah, this is a load of bitter nonsense unless we hear it officially from our club.
eelpie Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 OS says no injuries charlton mong says injuries and we all panic! Pardew on OS also says Alan did not play against Thun because he is having treatment on his knee, and he is being nursed back to be fit for the first league game of the season
Turkish Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 cant he just do what Mel Gibson used to do in Leathal Weapon and bang it against a door or something to put it back in? Be back playing in no time.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 cant he just do what Mel Gibson used to do in Leathal Weapon and bang it against a door or something to put it back in? Be back playing in no time. Finally some common sense. Thank you Turkish P.s why do they/you call you Turkish? Do you love Turkish delight or do you love Turkeys or Turkey?
saintjay77 Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Finally some common sense. Thank you Turkish P.s why do they/you call you Turkish? Do you love Turkish delight or do you love Turkeys or Turkey? I wouold guess its got something to do with the Jason Statham Charecter in Snatch?
Turkish Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 both wrong, Funny name for an Englishman, I know. My parents to be were on the same plane when it crashed. That's how they met. They named me after the name of the plane. Not many people are named after a plane crash.
Fowllyd Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 both wrong, Funny name for an Englishman, I know. My parents to be were on the same plane when it crashed. That's how they met. They named me after the name of the plane. Not many people are named after a plane crash. What a touching story - it brought a tear to my rheumy old eye. I only hope that your parents-to-be weren't killed in the plane crash, as that would be truly tragic.
chrisobee Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Well I'll just copy my post from the match thread, I doubt if the links will work but it's not that important. "Well that's not really a lot to go on TBH. Fraser Richardson has dislocated his shoulder apparently. Where have you heard this Swis? Another former heard it from Parky So essentially guesswork as we get on here and even IF true then it's usually just a couple of weeks complete rest and then rehab begins. NB Name actually spelt incorrectly on Charlton fan site. "
trousers Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Possibly me being thick but dislocated bones aren't that difficult to put right, are they? Just pop them back in, sore for a day or so, and right as rain again. No? Unless the implication is that it's a recurring injury?
iansums Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 What the hell is Granty doing? He should be up that mountain looking for Richardson and finding out what's going on. It's the least we expect for our £5 a year subs, it's a bloody disgrace!
Ashley Grute Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Dislocated shoulder can be a nightmare injury due to the four rotator cuff muscles that stabilize the joint. At least one of these will have been damaged with the dislocation and rehab takes ages!
Tony F Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 (edited) How will we survive for a few weeks without this player who has never played for us? Anything to do with the fact that three out of the four players who covered that slot are gone and the fourth is our first choice LBack? Edited 14 July, 2010 by Tony F can't count
SB Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 ...However as they mentioned that no injurys occured, or serious injurys, then it doesn't matter.
NickG Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 we have struggled for fullbacks for last few years. think you would struggle to come up with a handful who have had a good season for us on either side for years.

proevosaints Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Dislocated my shoulder played football fine with it dislocated and once put back in there's no issues to stop you playing. Only thing is occasionally you have physio just to strengthen the muscles to stop it going again, but that wont stop him playing football
VectisSaint Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 They named me after the name of the plane. Not many people are named after a plane crash. Lots of people are called Ryan Maybe Richardson dislocated his shoulder tombstoning from the bridge in Interlaken - really thought that was a dodgy thing to be asking highly paid footballers to be doing
trousers Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 why is Ashley Grute likely to have this injury? I give up. Why is Ashley Grute likely to have this injury?

Um Bongo Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 He's only been here a week but still done more then Pulis has achieved in his whole time here. Well done Frazer.
VectisSaint Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 A plane crash, not a plane. Could be same thing in this case
hackedoff Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Not sure if anyone else has picked up on this, but every time I read anything Charlton related I get the impression that they dont go a lot on Pardew ?
Window Cleaner Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 Not sure if anyone else has picked up on this, but every time I read anything Charlton related I get the impression that they dont go a lot on Pardew ? you don't say !!!!

SFC Forever Posted 14 July, 2010 Posted 14 July, 2010 OS says no injuries charlton mong says injuries and we all panic! Actually on the OS it says that Lallana has a knee injury, which is why he didn't play
S-Clarke Posted 17 July, 2010 Posted 17 July, 2010 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2095082,00.html confirmed. what a **** bit of luck that is
chrisobee Posted 17 July, 2010 Posted 17 July, 2010 I'm all for the club keeping transfers and the like a low profile but why did it take so long to confirm it ? Still we have Butterfield and hopefully FR will return within 3 months. A freak injury for sure.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 18 July, 2010 Author Posted 18 July, 2010 LOL. Charlton mong writes something and panic breaks out. Oh dear. Foot. Mouth. Extract. lol
Saint Bones Posted 18 July, 2010 Posted 18 July, 2010 ARGH Damn 3 Months. Back in the UK for a quick op and will miss the start of the season. Did Butterfield play the RB role in the latest friendly ?

Oddly enough the match thread gives a hint Davis Butterfield Jaidi Seaborne Harding Oxlade-Chamberlain Schneiderlin Hammond© Mills Lambert Connolly
patred44 Posted 18 July, 2010 Posted 18 July, 2010 I find it galling that Charlton fans are more informed about our club than we are. The OS announced it a week after it happened and late at night.. Is their little spat with the Echo the reason ? The lack of communication is disappointing considering NC's promise of transparency with the fans.

The info though sounded like it had come from a privelaged source prior to his hospital treatment and therefore perhaps Saints were waiting until after that event?
