Nexstar Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Most long range free kicks that are on target. Don't get me wrong I am glad we have him but that just seems to be a weakness. If you look back at a lot of last seasons goals that we conceded there where quite a few long range free kicks that went in. Feel free to point me in the direction of these goals.

Lambert scored a few too - I thought it was through skill not the Goalie being a Pratt

If you look back at a lot of last seasons goals that we conceded there where quite a few long range free kicks that went in. I can remember one long range one, Richards for Walsall, i won't count Harte's against Carlisle as surely the 18 yard line can't be counted as a long range free kick.
CWD Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 I hadn't really noticed it before but you're right, Harte, Puncheon (for Dons), Walsall guy, this chap tonight... I think it might be more down to quality of the set piece than a weakness of Kelv though
Saint_lambden Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 1-1 apparently Wotton Penalty ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First Saints goal for him? Paul Wotton Football Genius
Saint_lambden Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Hang on ..... ummmm Bloody confused what the score is
Turkish Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 so Davis struggles from free kicks, crosses and low shots according to some on here. Is there anything he does well?
chrisobee Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Where did you get that from? From a friend of a friend of a taxi driver from Totton ?
Nexstar Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 1-1 apparently Wotton Penalty ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First Saints goal for him? Paul Wotton Football Genius Don't be so ridiculous, it's not April 1st
chrisobee Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 so Davis struggles from free kicks, crosses and low shots according to some on here. Is there anything he does well? Davis beaten from a great free kick from 25 yards : Not good enough !
CWD Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 so Davis struggles from free kicks, crosses and low shots according to some on here. Is there anything he does well? He has a terrible goal scoring record
The Kraken Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 From twitter, still 1-0. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has looked bright so far, here he is taking on his man
The Kraken Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Another twitter update Still 1-0 down after 35 mins. Thun quite negative, playing ball about at the back for long periods
Nexstar Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Dickson out and I want a refund on my season ticket FFS
Crab Lungs Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Uh oh, this could prompt a mass suicide among some members
saintscottofthenortham Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 2-0. This is a disgrace. Dickson messed up. Dickson OUT.
Saint Garrett Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 FC Thun 2-0 Saints. Dickson's loose pass intercepted and Proschwitz curled in an effort into the top corner just inside the box Dickson out!!
S-Clarke Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 i don't think we're good enough, we need lots of new players by tomorrow. Alps was right all along
Turkish Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Yes, higher shots, close range, one on ones. There have been comments for ages about long low shots beating him. He's a lower league keeper, a good one, but a lower league one, so obviously he has weaknesses. Half the premier league keepers have weaknesses too. Everyone has weaknesses, its ridiculous that people are saying he is crap from free kicks because he was beaten by a great one today and a couple of crackers last season, the only two i can remember were Puncheon for MK Dons and the Wallsall guy, certainly no **** ups like the OLdham keeper up there for Lamberts goal.
The Kraken Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 FC Thun 2-0 Saints. Dickson's loose pass intercepted and Proschwitz curled in an effort into the top corner just inside the box
Turkish Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 FC Thun 2-0 Saints. Dickson's loose pass intercepted and Proschwitz curled in an effort into the top corner just inside the box Dickson out!! FFS Davis beaten by a high shot now!!! He is crap at those too!!
Saint Garrett Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Proschwitz gets FC Thun's 3rd - Davis parries effort from left winger with his legs but the ball rebounds in off the striker...Southampton til i die...
chrisobee Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Proschwitz gets FC Thun's 3rd - Davis parries effort from left winger with his legs but the ball rebounds in off the striker, Oh for heavens sake, don't parry it straight back !!
Arizona Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Well, this should kick the complacency out of us pretty hard if nothing else.
chrisobee Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 5-0 Just because you were stupid enough to have a bet don't go making up your own scores:lol:
John B Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Well, this should kick the complacency out of us pretty hard if nothing else. Possibly FC Thun started pre season sometime ago as they must have a mid season break
Nexstar Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Different 11 expected for the second half. Super Rickie will turn this around
SuperMikey Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Did anyone really expect us to beat a top-flight Swiss club that regularly plays in the CL?
The Kraken Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 Well, this should kick the complacency out of us pretty hard if nothing else. Or maybe tell us what we already knew, that a central midfield of Wotton and McNish is probably not going to be our first choice.
S-Clarke Posted 13 July, 2010 Posted 13 July, 2010 tbf this is the sort of game you need in a pre-season, not a thrashing.....but a hard workout, not just an easy 13-0 win against some 8th division Swedish team or whatever. far more beneficial in the long run to have an early workout like this IMO.
