Players who have underperformed or had howlers, as opposed to just generally crap and obscure players from N. Korea and Honduras we've never heard of. Short of putting out an entire England XI, here goes

Green (England)

Zambrotta (Italy) - Terry (England) - Canavaro (Italy) - Evra (France)

Keita (CIV) - Gatusso (Italy) - Melo (Brazil) - Kewell (Australia)

Rooney (England) - Anelka (France)

Hmm can't really argue with that back 4 (back 5 really - but I thought I'd add some variety at goalkeeper!)

Sorenson (Denmark)

Zambrotta (Italy) - Terry (England) - Cannavaro (Italy) - Evra (France)

Kaite (Nigeria) - Van Bommel (Holland) - Behrami (Switzerland - Sorry Markus)

Ribery (France) - Rooney (England) - Ronaldo (Portugal)

No room for Heskey?

Again.

My hopes for Heskey were somewhere on par with the North Korean squad (RIP). Rooney on the other hand was being bigged up as one of the top 3 players in the world and ended up looking like a vicar in a strip club.

Ronaldo didn't set the tournament alight either, although in the Spain match he was completely isolated up front and really isn't a 'focal point' striker anyway.

He would be the first on my team sheet even though it's a bit insulting to muppets !!

I think he's a marmite player - you love him if he's on your team but otherwise you hate him. To be honest, I think the knock out games have shown him for what he is - a very average player but a complete thug. Van Marwijk had him when he was Feijenoord coach and he was thug then, and he hasn't got any better since his move to Bayern.
