So we have a thread saying no signings for 2 weeks and another thread saying 2 signings in one week.

Mods this is getting ridiculous. Just merge the two threads and let them compromise. 1 signing this week please.

we were going to sign torres, but after consulting SWF, cortese (the ticket taxing ****) saw the errors of his ways and realised he would not be as good as lambert

Torres. Over rated, fat, slow, can't trap a bag of cement and can't even get in the Spanish team anymore. He's no good it was just that at Liverpool the other players around him were so bad they made him look a stand out. His goals were all just luck.

Don't want him at SMS.

Anyway, Paul the Octopus says he's off to Chelski to support Adam Lalana up front. We get Drogba in exhcange plus 8 mil

Well according to the Nottingham Forest boards, the financial sh*t maybe about to hit the fan at the City Ground - rumour that Billy Davies will leave & everyone is up for sale....

Whether that means we're looking at Tyson, I don't know.

Well, we'll know if they are to suffer a deforestation if Forest fans start queuing for the suicide clinic in Interlaken.

All rumours! Players do not know targets so I am sure Season Ticket Holders do not have a clue.

We know we are looking for a Forward to cover for Lambert. Cannot see Tyson dropping a league just to warm the bench most of the time.

I can tell you we are also looking for a wide midfielder to put Puncheon and Lallana under pressure next season.

We know he also wants a box to box midfielder but no clues so far.

Plenty of time. Just enjoy the sun and warm weather. Winter will be on us too quickly.

I can't help thinking that Tyson will sign for someone else in a week or so and that will be followed by people on here winging that another of our targets has got away when were almost certainly not interested in the first place! Happy to eat my words if he does sign ...

This is fun watching everyone put replies to one and another. Didn't reply on Saturday had a little drinking to complete and my wife did the Run for Life yesterday and bbq and beer afterwards..

Ok source: within the club has a pretty good record, around 75% of his info has proved to be right.

Have had the rumour confirmed again this am that Tyson and Danns will be signing sometime this week...... Who knows, at least it keeps the interst going!!

Not having a pop at you here Ian (honest Guv!) but when someone quotes a source as saying "will" rather than "might" is that just a case of being loose with the English language or are they actually that sure about it?

For example, if someone 'inside the club' had got wind of the fact that a player was booked in for a medical Wednesday this week, that doesn't mean they "will" sign for us but it might lead to the source articulating it as such.

So, just to clarify, is your source adamant that they "will" sign or is it more of a "strong possibility"....?

cheers!

Good point Trousers, will try to determine how sure they are............

Still get carry away when I here these rumours, it's a really exciting time in our history!

Why would a Saints player be privy to the transfer dealings? I can't imagine Cortese and Pardew leaking it out to the playing staff when they don't need to know.

Look -

I just pass on the info we get.

It's two players that are ITK , I don't know how or why they know about transfer dealings but it's as close as you can get without getting it from Cortese or Pardew themselves.

Neil Danns would be an excellant signing - good strong box to box CM who would add a huge amount to the team.

As for Tyson..........I think he's a bit hyped up TBH.

I think MLG may have forgotten that rumours could originate from someone other than Cortese or Pardew - ie. the player involved.

Tyson is not an amzing player - he is very rough in some respects. However what he does have, and what we currently don't, is masses of pace. He is very quick indeed and can operate upfront or down the wing so he gives us extra options. He is also a leftie and we only have one of those in an offensive position (Punch). He would be a good addition to the squad.

Forest forum suggested this has been noticeably reduced.

I know Tyson's a pretty 'big' name inleague football, ie most people have heard of him. But is his reputation really justified? For striker his goal ratio is pretty rubbish, he's spent the 4 season's at forest and scored 31 goals, which is more or less what lambert got last seaon alone. 31 in 148 games is almost 1 in 5, which isn't great for what I thought was meant to be a goal scorer, I may be wrong, maybe he's more in the support stiker role.

he played nearly all of last season at left midfield. The last I heard Reading was a possible move for him.

Ok, well if he is no longer quick then a major asset of his has gone. I have faith that we will give him a thorough once over, if we are indeed interested.

I doubt we are actually interested, FWIW.

Well I for one would love to see both of them here this coming week if not then I would like one of the avaliable strikers and I don't mind who comes aswell as one more player will do me but we will see ;)!

Not so sure about Danns - whenever I've seen him play he seems to get a bit lost positionally and he's not one to put the boot in where it hurts...and he's not a playmaker to the best of my knowledge (but glad to be proved wrong). Tyson it seems has lost his way where he is and needs to get fitter (both of which I feel sure he can correct here). If we were to sign both of these guys, I think the squad would be pretty much complete. Sign Carlos Edwards per other thread and we'll have a very exciting CCC level team that could tear this league apart.

Danns is a midfielder in the Lampard mould, late runs into the box and most of the time getting onto the end of things.

2 days of this week gone already! Any hint from your source as to whether these deals are still on the cards?

He'll be completely out of his depth at NPC level, mark my words. He won't be there for more than a couple of years.

If he is going to be out of his depth in the NPC there would have no point in us buying him I would have thought

Whats more with Connolly Lambert and Barnard how often would he have played?
