I work with a season ticket holder at Forest

He told me on Thursday that Saints have almost completed a transfer for Nathan Tyson

Couldn't be bothered to post it as most people would just dismiss it, but he was adamant it's virtually a done deal

Do Nottingham Forest inform all season ticket holders of transfer negotiations?

Surprised Danns hasn't moved before now, would still be surprised to see him sign for us though as we tried and failed in january - and that was when they were strapped for cash, it's a ''little'' bit easier for them now.

As for Tyson, who knows? Was made aware of Pard's interest in him back in the january window, but no idea what movement happened then.

Tyson to fill Lallana's position should he leave would make sense. Would have played for Pards at his time at Reading as well.

This is exactly what was said

Pardew knows Tyson well, he brought him through the youth team & into the first team at Reading

I'm happy for everyone to take it with a pinch of salt until it's confirmed, but apparently Tyson is keen to team up with AP again

Well according to the Nottingham Forest boards, the financial sh*t maybe about to hit the fan at the City Ground - rumour that Billy Davies will leave & everyone is up for sale....

Whether that means we're looking at Tyson, I don't know.

Edit: Just checked one of the other threads started by the same person - he's predicted James Perch to go to Newcastle on the 2nd July & said Tyson is on his way out at the same time but did not say where. Perch then moved on the 5th July.

Looks like Davies wasn't made aware of Perch's sale...

Just read the opening post on that thread and fair play to the bloke who described the selling off of their best players as a "deforestation process".

Made I laugh...

What was the player your source said was close to signing? Jackson?

Well we're not hearing much more until the players get back from Switzerland but Aliadiare may drop his wage demands but would prefer a move to the Championship - which means he isn't really overkeen on us.

When Tyson was mentioned to said player before he left for the training camp he said it was probably rubbish.

I do know that we have made a good offer for Jackson and that Gillingham have accepted it - where it goes from there I don't know.

Danns - was in talks quite a while back when Palace were in the brown stuff but since they're fine it broke down.

That's all most likely until the 18th/19th when the ITK player lets us know more.

Why would a Saints player be privy to the transfer dealings? I can't imagine Cortese and Pardew leaking it out to the playing staff when they don't need to know.

Sarcasm is great until you look an almighty **** if\when it comes true!

Danns would be as top draw a signing as we could make. Can't see it happeing though. He's one of the best midfielders in the CCC. Can't see him dropping to league 1 since he turned us down in January.

What's Palace's financial situation like at the mo? I see they're trying to tie-up Ambrose on a new contract - That'll set them back a fair bit -- And we know how George likes to wheel and deal. Reckon a million would get them talking to us about Danns.

Why couldn't a ST holder be a source of information.

They could, I think it was more the fact that it seemed to imply that the reason he had the information was because he was a season ticket holder, which is silly.

I know Tyson's a pretty 'big' name inleague football, ie most people have heard of him. But is his reputation really justified? For striker his goal ratio is pretty rubbish, he's spent the 4 season's at forest and scored 31 goals, which is more or less what lambert got last seaon alone. 31 in 148 games is almost 1 in 5, which isn't great for what I thought was meant to be a goal scorer, I may be wrong, maybe he's more in the support stiker role.

I don't think it was written as fact, but a relay of a rumour from another club's fan. Huntingdon stated his source & never said he was ITK; what's the issue?

a lot of Chelsea fans would not know who Lallana is.....

He's been in and out with injuries and what not, I think. Undoubtedly though, he's bloody quick which is an asset we could do with.

You make a good point and Tyson is definitely not a support striker. He plays up top and as a wide player sometimes.

Personally I think he is ideal as he offers cover for Lambert which is essentially what Pardew wanted. Ricky needs a break now and then to keep him fresh. You are not going to get another 20 goal a season man to play second fiddle to Lambert which essentially is what Tyson is likely to be.

Hey everyone look at me!

Tosser alert! You've gotta laugh...every time...when people on an internet chat forum instantly get resentful & narky of ANYONE posting a rumour. Whether substantiated or not!

What do they come on here for, exchanging knitting patterns?! Lol Get over yourself!

The Forest thread was, IMHO, a wind up, and quite funny

So we have a thread saying no signings for 2 weeks and another thread saying 2 signings in one week.

I dont care at least its something to discuss even if it is a rumour! Better than nowt and squabbling over no signings!

How have the mods allowed this to happen? What do we pay our subscription money for etc etc

Agreed - no posts on speculation should be allowed until after the player has been signed

Tyson and Danns to sign for Saints this week............

Nicola will be furious that you have leaked this before he has made an official announcement

He may even cancel the deals .

Im worried that we arent chasing enough strikers. Will Lambert, Barnard, Connolly, Jackson, Alliedere, Tyson and Owen be prolific enough to get us promoted?

we were going to sign torres, but after consulting SWF, cortese (the ticket taxing ****) saw the errors of his ways and realised he would not be as good as lambert
